Anyone have experience with this?
Depends on the sport and what kind of site but betting are usually working.
Yes. I thought this. Also thought of bodybuilding supplements. And Jerseys etc...
Have you checked out what models other sports blogs are using? You may find some affiliate programs they're using that would give you ideas on monetization in that area.
You are right. Although, I have found most are just using something like adsense or double click. Or something in sports that pays per 1000 impression. Pay is $1 per 1000. I dont think they are really monetizing ads like they can. But hey, they have to be making money. I guess?
I think there are better options.
Become an Amazon Associate. Sell sports equipment, sports videos, sports books , etc.
sports people are often fitness fans. put some fitness CPA offers on there.
What kind of sports blog do you want to start? There are sooo many ways to go about it but it depends on what you want from the website for a long term residual income with trustworthy customer base or a short term quick money blog
Are you gonna make a Orignal blog ? And how many?
firstly you would have to do alot work
to get traffic
after that u can monetize by anything, adsense, clickbank etc etc
Time consuming and hard to make money with a Sport blog.
My 3rd Site [sold the first 2]; baseball is my thing. I make all my money on integrated Affiliate Links within the content and I have an integrated Amazon Store.
The smaller the niche within the Sport the better, then use Affiliate links and a store to monetize. 1000 uniques a day doesn't equate to any real money with the normal channels [adsense, etc].
Unique content and Affiliate links will earn u money though with a minimal amount of traffic.
I used to run a boxing blog and did ok with ticket sale affiliate sites. Funny thing was I was selling tickets to every sport BUT boxing lol. The previous poster was correct, with small traffic its difficult to make money with adsense. AFF sales are your best bet for sports sites.
Sports memorabilia sales can pay well but it just takes so much time to build sport sites smh.. Good luck!
It depends on the type of sport.
I think a really good idea would be using a betting site affiliate.
You can make lots of money with bets on sports
This could be monetized in a lot of different ways.
I really like the supplement idea. You could probably get pretty good commission on that if you did well I would imagine.
You could try amazon associate aswell. If you could get adsense on I think that would fit in pretty well also.
Interesting idea with the supps.
