I get 50 - 300 worldwide un-targeted views
that is your problem, it's worth nothing I can make more by 10 targeted viewers
I don't know much about youtube, but I do know there are makeup gurus (don't laugh) that make thousands a month from youtube. I do know that they have lots of worldwide viewers as well.
I have uploaded 30 videos this week. That's around 4,500 views weekly.
If im able to cover my costs I plan to expand and upload 50+ videos weekly.
Seriously, you do have a very eye for catching profitable niches on youtube i can tell you i ve been looking at that niche for months thinking it would be a nice idea to hire some pretty girls to do some make up videos as it would convert very nicely with cpa.Your pretty smart to have figured that out without doing any youtube marketing, anyways back to the op . It depends on what the views , number of views alone won't make you money.
95% of making money depends on the niche, not the views. Views is 5%
Take a how to video "how to put smokey eyes on" , if you manage to get 1000 views and you put an affiliate in to that product you use on that video, you are bound to make an easy 100 dollars in cpa commissions, thats if you didnt add any fake views and its all regular users.
Now take a random video like the OP mentioned, especially something about funny or sports related, like a new game, you would be lucky to make a few cents.
In youtube if you are planning on making money from just youtube views, its better to do how to videos and monetize it with cpa. A random video with views won't get you far, even if you have a strong call to action. Thats why you will see many of those beauty gurus on youtube making 1k dollars easily when they only have 100k views, and i think thats lowballing(ofc they have to have affiliate links on their videos)
