Ive read a lot on this forum over the last couple of weeks and its really opened my eyes to the out of the box technique people use to gain conversions.

My problem is im testing in the holiday services field with a superb relevant .com website name, unique self written content with highly searched keywords for my niche, google adsense, and relevant website links to websites im affiliated with and a google adwords campaign where im paying pennies to get some relevant traffic. I get the visitors, i get the clickthroughs, but the conversions on the websites im affiliated with are shite, one week i could make £100 the next sod all and only pennies in adsense.

My questions are how do other people make a profit through affiliate marketing and how do you convince a visitor that buying a particular service or product from a site your affiliated with is a good idea leading to high sale volumes?

    1. Sales are rarely consistent - like rainfall really - dry for weeks and then a flood
    2. try not ot hard sell them - just say something like "well , if you want to go and have a look at t site - click here (cloaked affiliate link)
    3. link cloaking
    4. be devious and dont tell your visitors you are an affiliate (the new searcher may not even suspect or know what affiliate IM is
    5. the more your traffic is laser targeted the higher th conversions

Thanks for the reply, i already do php link cloaking so noone can see they are clicking an affiliate link, but the trouble with affiliate future is it brings up a blank affiliate future redirect page which flashes up for only a split second but displays the affiliate future link in the address bar at the top before going to the companies website, its a bit of a pain in the arse and i dont know how get round it.

Another thing is i run a directory so im pretty much advertising im an affiliate of these companies just by displaying text links. The keyword campaign i run isnt always laser targetted i must admit, but if theyre clicking my ads they must be interested in what im offering, but maybe its the problem of too many browsers in the shop, rather that hungry buyers, the holiday market is full of that which is difficult to get past.

I do use call to action keywords such as book and buy and attention keywords such as cheap cheapest and bargain. But even this is getting crap results.

Im scratching my head with this one.

    Exactly..

I've always focused on targeted SE traffic... Give them exactly what they're looking for and you don't have to do much selling at all.
