    Hi,
    It's clear question and it's important to know that ,because my video's image looks like shit,

    BTW i was put custom thumbnail image in the past by (monetization) option but now YT make it more complicated to make partnership!

    It will be nice if there are any further method !

    You just need phone verification to put up a custom thumbnail.

    yep, just use a phone number to verify your channel and u can add your own images! ;) :)

    cool! never knew they allowed you to change the image. the old trick used to be to stick the image right in the middle of the video and it would allow you to select it.
