    Hey guys,

So lately ive been trying to rank a dummy (but not spammed) site on very low competition keywords but it seems that my efforts are futile as it has been 2-3 weeks and i dont see my site in top 100 serps, which is really soul crushing.

Im not here to whine as that wont lead anywhere, but im here to try and understand why i cant rank in these very low competition long tail keywords. (They are "how to *" for the matter)

So here's what i have been doing for this site:

    1) i bought a new domain, non emd.
    2) did the kw research and i am targetting very low competition keywords, where the top 10 serps are blogspots or some weebly blogger. Niche is non affiliate and non profitable, as i want to understand what i am doing wrong or if its just google.
    3) I have written about 10-15 articles myself fully optimised, with pics, videos, tags, meta tags and outbound links to high pr sites (Wikipedia or so)
    4) for the offpage seo, i have been doing everything manual. I have been creating squidoo lenses, weebly, blogger, articles from high pr sites and yes, every site is indexed, even the backlinks.
    5) I have been doing this for the last 2-3 weeks without any success or any signal of whether or not i am on the right track.

So basically thats what i have been doing to try and rank this site on very low competition long tail keywords. I really dont know if im on the right track or not. Ive been using serpfox in the last 4 days and all my pages for the keywords im targetting are on serps #120+.

Again guys, i am NOT whining about why this is happening, but i am trying to understand what i am doing wrong as i really cant see what i may be doing wrong.

Here are some stats for some metrics that could be faulty but which i dont think they are:

    1) anchor text is: 50% generic kws, 5% the main kw, 4% (8 times) secondary kws, 3% lsi, 10% either naked url or click here and similar kws.
    2) kw density on main site: 1.5% main kw, 1% lsi, 2% generic kws. (I try to combine the kws in 1 article, but i am also making articles targetting only lsi or generic on backlinks)
    3) kw density on backlinks: 1.5% lsi, 2% generic kws, 1%-2% main kw ( asni say this percentages are distributed on articles and these percentages arent in 1 article; so 1 atrticle could be about only lsi, or other for generic kws or another for the main kw or 1 article using 2 percentages like maybe click here and a synonym)

With that being said guys, i would love to hear your opinion as i am utterly lost here and really dont know what to do next!
Then again, this is not a rant as that serves nothing, but i am trying to understand what i am doing wrong as really, the only thing i can rank are churn and burn bloggers that dont bring any $$$ somehow...

Also, remember that this site is nonprofitable and its just a test site with no real way of monetising, exept maybe, adsense.

    Thanks for your advice, guys!

Not sure what is wrong, maybe your trying too hard? Let the site rest for a while. Keep adding post, and watch and follow the analytics.

I am sure he is trying too much. And I think he probably did something wrong. You can rank low comp KWs easy, without backlinks, and I wonder how did you measure competition

@tampots: domain is new, i mean, it was not expired or deleted.
@skyrocket: i measured the competition using market samurai. Even without it you could see the niche is very low competition.
@ok888: i know that, thats why i am interested in what others think as this is madness! I just cant believe i cant rank a site on this very easy keyword!!

    Maybe i should wait...

    Ditto!!

Almost a month down on a simple keyword based site (already scheduled to turn it into authority site) but not seeing any sign yet.
Thing is, I was getting traffic from SE for couple of days but then suddenly it was gone. at the same time, I am indexed and getting small chunk from bing/yahoo... I guess if domain is new (as in my case), algo's (sandbox) are the the thing. Never faced this much time for ranking a site somewhere in serps...

I have 34 articles + good domain name (new but easy to remember) .. Now thinking of using social platform to drive some traffic to site and see if that works.

That's exactly what I have been doing for the past 6-7 months man.
I have found so many ways, but it seems that all o them result in bad results man.

Actually, the only thing that I seem to rank are churn and burn bloggers, but they never seem to return a profit, even on decent keywords...

I really don't know what to do man, after trying all what I have done I dont know what to think.....

Read phpbuilt's thread, you're probably overoptimizing. I had 7 keywords jump to the top 30 after i took care of my overoptimization problem

I can't tell you exactly what to do, as I don't know what you've already done, what you already know, the circumstances of your website, the niche, etc...But I'll provide a couple pointers:

If the competition is really low you can literally just have on page optimization and a couple social shares and rank...even w/ fresh domain.

Make sure to diversify any links you do decide to build, in both the structure of the url ( http://domain.com/ , www.domain.com , http://www.domain.com , http://www.domain.com/ ) as well as the anchor text...

Avoid low quality links, at least until you have some authority to protect you from any negative impacts they may have.

Don't KW stuff (this includes alt and title tags, not just visible text), Don't use the same anchor text too much for backlinks, Don't use stolen or spun content on your money site ->

Make social profiles for your site on all the major social media sites, but don't spam your links on these accounts - share occasionally your pages along with similar content from other people that's related to your niche.

Don't have too many ads "above the fold" (the visible are that you can see without scrolling down) - if you're using affilliate links then mask them with something like pretty links (this is more for the user/viewer than the spiders - ppl don't wanna click on some shit that says "9539Kkdjl983?affilliateid=3899" in the url).

Use many variations of your targeted keywords rather than repeatedly using the exact keywords throughout the page.

Do not use nofollow on all outbound links. Have at least one relevant outbound link for each article.

Last thing off the top of my head...try not to link to 'bad neighbors' , ie; shitty quality sites, shady sites using malicious / deceptive methods that you wouldn't want to have your site associated with.
