To check to see if your site is indexed in google, just google search: "www.yoursite.com"
To check backlinks you can use hrefs or something similar.

First Install MozBar extension on your chrome.
Now search : site:yourdomain.com on google.

You'll see each link indexed with number of backlinks pointing to it.

You've been running a blog for over a year now. I wonder why you had to make a thread to ask this. I mean, you could just google it.
