I dont know what to think of youtube anymore, it seems like every account i make they ban for some reason. I have read all kinds of tips on how to keep a youtube account alive longer but none seem to have any influence.

Several months back i decided to create a legit channel that would offer helpful videos for a certain audience, in hopes that this channel will slowly take off and build a audience in which i will then try to monetize in some form. Well i noticed a few months later this channel had started to take off, then it had been about a month and a half since i last logged into my channel when i try to log in a couple days ago just to find that my account has been banned. This is getting ridiculous youtube seems so inconsistent with this, there are thousands of videos still up of these same type of videos i uploaded and they have been up for years.

So any recommendations guys on how to keep vids up longer? Im tired of spending dozens of hours creating and uploading just to get taken down in an instant.

Cut off all info related to your illigal stuff, change IP, change email, clear cookies and start uploading legit stuff.

    Easy as pie.

sorry i should have been more clear, it really was a two part question for me. Yes i have put clearly copyrighted content up on youtube before that gets removed left and right everyday, that part i get and dont cry about, but i was wondering how other people keep exact videos of that stuff up on youtube for years but mine always get taken down. But also this legit channel i was referring to is more of a grey area type thing when it comes to copyright, and i feel this channel should be the last thing on youtubes mind in terms of urgency to remove, and i see other channels just like mine up and doing fine. Sorry i cant be more specific on what my channel was without giving it away.

Do you get banned instantly after log on or after you upload videos?

Man that has got to suck :( I'm sorry to hear that bro. I'm sure you're resilient enough to meet the inevitable obstacles of YT Marketing or else you wouldn't be here! :)

Anyway, I tried the TV/Movie & Music niche a while back. Clipping random parts of the video and changing audio pitch usually bypasses the automated YT copyright check. This doesn't spare you from manual flags though.

I'm guessing some of your competition is flagging you if you were able to get the videos up for more than 24 hours.

the only accounts i ever had banned were ones i bought or created with an account creator...i have 100 or so that i made over manually in conjunction with the corresponding gmails...when connected to a moderatley aged gmail account its almost impossible to have accounts get banned

then again im making my own content to upload and i dont use any of my good accounts to do any spam commenting or comment rating...i merely use the good accouns for messaging/sharing videos...and i have made each account a clone of my main youtube channel with the same background and urls etc in addition to favoriting a chunk of my own videos

i dont know exactly what has kept my accounts alive for all this time so thats why i described exactly what i did...uploaded avatar bg everything it was time consuming but now im sharing my video to over 50k new users a day so it was all worth it haha :)

oh yeah and i also have all the gmail accounts attached to the yt's forwarding to my main email account so i get a message whenever certain activity happens on any of the 100+ channels...when sending out so much it is nice to be able to scan over messages etc to see maybe if you got some good leads

i always here people talk about how you should only put 1-3 videos on each account to keep from getting removed/banned, is there any truth to this? I have never actually tried this i always upload more.

It's all depend with the quality of the youtube account, generally if the account are good then it will stay longer even if you keep uploading tons videos on it.

Hi, totally new user here, but I own a LA/NY marketing company... specifically with a focus in YouTube. Have had an 'eye' on the forum for about two years now... really fascinating info on here! Hope to connect with a few...

From my research, and current dealings; there seems to be a wide crackdown on "spam" activity. A Google employee response includes:

[Note: Not that this may not be related to the troubles faced by some, but for marketers who create mass accounts; this could be something to consider and look more into...]

"The changes you are noticing to the incrementing of likes are part of our ongoing and increasingly rigorous efforts to prevent the artificial inflation of engagement metrics such as likes, views, subscriptions, and favorites. At the moment, we are implementing improvements that will prevent users from accruing higher counts of these metrics as a result of invalid activity."

I've noticed that 1000s of my personal accounts have been suspended at the beginning of the new year. Now, all were made to a tee with some strong methods, SMS verification, proxies- the works. Everyone was 'happy' up until a few days ago when this crackdown happened. I'm curious to know if others have experienced recent and somewhat similar account suspension?

    Google employee response continued:
"YouTube employs proprietary technology to prevent the artificial inflation of a video's viewcount, likes, and other engagement metrics by spam bots, malware and other means. These changes will improve the integrity of these engagement metrics by ensuring that these numbers accurately reflect user intentions. As such, if you notice an overall decrease in such activity with respect to your video and channels, this is due to better filtering of this activity from spammy sources."

Perhaps there should have been more efforts in place after the said accounts were created. More randomize activity (Favorite a video or two, the upload of an avatar, etc.) Clients of mine that do have a few working accounts left- I've recommended that they do the above, and it seems to be working.

Will be interesting to see how this moves forward...

Well, if you act like a spammer, its not a surprised you are getting banned. Seriously, don't break the rules head on, that's the trick.

Welcome to the YT section of BHW! :) I'm sure we could all share and learn from our experiences.

Very true. My own personal tool for creating accounts through adwords -> youtube method has been affected. They only work for 24 hours and then get blocked/asked for SMS verification. Other accounts I created before this update remains unaffected however.

They have claimed this for years. Although it is true that they have been cracking down on accounts/users/proxies that are spamming YT to death, the fact remains that there will always be available methods for those who are smart enough to keep it under the radar.

If you notice the trend, those changes only affect exploits and extra spammy methods.

Ex for comment rating: A top rated comment - "free ipod on my channel" - on a music video with 1,000,000 views would get flagged faster than you can say spam. This will also affect proxies rendering them useless for 2 days. Yet, a top rated comment like "check my cover of this song too when you get the chance" will stick in that section for months, even getting a few hundred additional ratings. Ofcourse this means changing your actual content to provide call to action watermarks on your video and promoting the ad on your description, but the effect is still the same. One just have to be creative.

No matter what youtube claims, their algorithm is still a computer program. That program can never compete with an actual human brain.. if one actually decides to use it. :)

Great insight! I will test this in my way and let you know more about the result.

I have talked to people here who have atleast 5 years on their belt in YT & video marketing. They're geniuses in my book. and this comes into mind, moving forward:

"YouTube, no matter what you do, we find ways -BH Marketers"

Probably true. I have seen several accounts, and especially one that caught my attention, had over 1800 videos with cracks, keygens and other things, all looking spammy as sh*t. The account was 3 months old, and there were hundreds of videos uploaded 1-2 month ago. Sometimes I wonder, if I pour water in another bowl, will it blend? There's no logic, but there should be some secret behind the logic.

Did you test this, and it's working better than just clipping the beginning, and the end? Or you just do all you can, just in case? :)
