So I've been reading up on ranking YT vids and have found a lot on that, but not much on KW research and competition for youtube.

I know how to do KW research for a website, but not YT.

What should I look for to determine keyword difficulty? The only thing I've found was "If the results beat the searches by 20k or more" go for it. and "30k searches on a 40k results niche is great,40k searches on 200k results is not." I don't recall the original posters.

Should I be checking backlinks on competition with Traffic Travis, SeoSpyglass, etc?

    Thanks in advance,

    ~D

There are about 5 different CPA+Youtube method threads out there and no one has really address the pre-game stuff like this. To me this would be the most important part. How to find trends on youtube. What dictates high traffic or not. This part requires some brains, the other 90% of the method is busy work. I'd like to see some links/threads about this as well.

    I feel the same way.

Any references or direction would be helpful.

Can't really pinpoint the amount of competition on YouTube's SERPs, to be honest. I always just check how many views the top video has and try to beat it, but sometimes the top video also has some powerful backlinks, so I always run the video URL in Ahrefs to see how my competitor is faring. Don't forget about keyword optimization of your video.

One way is to see how many views, likes and comments the videos on the first page have. The more they have the harder is to knock them down
