    If it's "disappeared" and not in the rankings at all, then it's been penalized/banned. If it just moved down in the rankings, then either someone else outdid your SEO, or one of G's formula changes doesn't like your site as much as it used to.

    You can recover from a drop in position but recovering from a ban is rare.

    FYI, Google banned a bunch of my ad/spam sites in the last few days, so it looks like they have some new filters.

    It's probably a junk site with nothing of value to the index and Google's algorithms identified it as such.

    No such thing as the sandbox either.

    2 months really isn't that long anyways. Weird that it would just drop though!

    A sandbox is mainly for exact match domains. You go through an extra level of algorithm when you use a EMD. If your website is nowhere to be found it sounds like a complete removal from the index, not good! A penalty will cause a ranking drop but not usually from 1st page to not indexed.

    Penalties are like #12 to #140. Just of an example of how ranks decrease.

    disappeared from rankings or Google itself?

    do a site:yourwebsite.com search in Google..and see whether it returns your website or not.
    Then search www.yourwebsite.com and see whether it returns your website or not.

    let us know the results.

    @topic

    first thing to do is check your manual actions from Google webmaster tools
    so we can identify the problem if there's an issue there

    if theres no manual action penalty this might look a algo penalty
    there so many factors why you been penalized.
    most common these early 2016 is the quality , google favorites are penalizing low quality website. (i hope BHW will penalized also low quality comment like on my top.)

    try to fixed the issue use google search.
    but in any cases penalties like this are not recoverable unless you can wait 3-6 months its possible.
    you can wait or just moved on to new domain and start a new.

    Hi my dear friend,
    It is very strange, I search both site:yourwebsite.com and www.yourwebsite.com all my site page return, but the most strange is when I search by 3 main subcategories url (which have been ranked at 1st page) of my site, not show the result but many much tier 3 categories, and when I test one of my 3rd tier subcategory (which high competition keyword ranked) url by searching in google, the fist result of the google show me "my page title - e-Deploy", but I have not wrote any "e-Deploy" in my page title, and after I clicked the url on google, it jump to one of my competitor site, after I tried clicked the link about 3-4 times, it turn to jump to my site page, so strange!!!

    Has my site been hacked by my competitor? my friend, is it possible that the competitor blocked my ranked page from google eyes? Or hacked my site? Is there any way to solve it? Thanks a lot!!!

    sounds like an over seo penalty or link based penalty.

    check your google analytics and see is there a traffic loss on any specific date?

    As for the title, google sometimes show the TITLE which it thinks is good for your website.

    If possible, you may send me the site via PM and i will check.

    Regards

    If it never ranked after quite a bit of an effort, you would deem it to be a sandbox. But in your case, it is penalty.
