I'm looking through Google's Adwords tool for word combinations that I could rank on page 1 for but I am a bit confused on how you can decide if the top 10 sites are even possible to beat for a niche site.

Are there any nice tools or plugins you guys can recommend to figure out how high each page ranks?

Is it possible to rank higher than large forum sites like bodybuilding? What about health sites like WebMD?

I've been listening to a ton of podcasts and tried searching, but most articles don't go into much detail about figuring out the competition.

    Thanks!

Use something like SEMrush to try and evaluate how many keywords they rank for, if they take SEO seriously, or are they ranked on a lot of similar terms
