make a url redirect to the affiliate page, then do some external seo and the aff link will be indexed.

Hmm... I wouldn't recommend getting your hoplink indexed (although I haven't seen one till I read your post).

    The reason is because...

The hoplink address will be ugly... imagine I were to type, say, "How to golf" in Google then I saw a hoplink that is like this: http://zxa234asdasd2132qdad.hoplink.clickbank.net.
The person who searched that will only feel suspicious and feel uncomfortable with that sort of link... they might think it's a virus website or something.

I would recommend you to do like what PlumbGreekMob said.
Just buy a real cheap domain name (from Godaddy or Namecheap.com) and do a url-redirect to your affiliate hoplink.

Then do all sorts of techniques to get that url indexed and get to the first page of Google.

I remember there's this product called Day Trading Robot (removed by Clickbank quite some time ago), and I remember an affiliate actually MADE his url-redirection link appear on the FIRST PAGE of google search! His url always appear in the first 3 positions when I did a broad-keyword search or exact keyword search. Simply genius.

But you wouldn't be able to find his link anymore. Ever since Clickbank removed that product, the smart affiliate's url kinda disappeared.
