How to increase pinterest followers?

I am doing the good old classic follow unfollow, but on a very small scale. Some people say it's not working but I've acumulated some followers that way, about 500 in a year. Like I said, I'm taking it extremely slow :)

Follow/Unfollow is still useful to gain followers but you need to do repin and comment to gain more followers.

If you have a genuine account ( it should be look very good, with related boards and stuff ), you can follow&unfollow. A little trick is to follow the last followers of the big players from your niche ( they should be active and most of the time they will follow you back ). I gained over 1k followers in the last 2 months for one of my accounts.

Btw, what is your niche?

Good luck!

I have 3 years old account. I tried f/u, group boards but it didnt work very well.
For several months I just reuploading photos and some of my pins explode. There are several pins that got more than million impressions. But to tell the truth I dont get many sales from that - less than 10 sales a month.
Reuploading photos I get natural 30-40 followers growth. I reupload 5-20 photos a day but simetimes I have no time and do nothing for a week

It works in that people follow back but it doesn't work in that when I have tried I got no traffic to my site from following. Used to be you would get traffic just from following but not now; so I am not sure what actual use it has? other than just showing a positive number.

are there any effective techniques to increase Pinterest followers?

While I don't follow the same path,
This outline by Ricky is likely one of the best options for "Forced" gaining followers available.

Simply because this can be automated by placing the specific niche related users "followers" URL's within a bot and begin to passively follow small chunks of there most recent followers = these accounts are active/recently logged into and likely to follow you back.

Two things...
1.
You need to identify the top users in your niche with the "cleanest" looking, and most active follower base.

i.e you hit F5 (refresh) and want to see new followers coming in these tabs each time or every few minutes. You also want to monitor them for legit users VS. other bots as rule of thumb dictates you are more likely to receive repins/saves from users who are not already pushing their own links or domains.

2. It will be a slow process. On small accounts, it will feel agonizing in the beginning to perhaps even reach the 1k follower mark, however in most niches once you do, here you reach a tipping point.

Due to your consistent pinning and other activity (If you choose) you no longer have the need to follow users. They will arrive organically as a by-product of your pins reach, impressions and saves across the platform. Providing your pins offer value or you have some level of consistency when posting them.

As mentioned, I do not follow this path simply because it's not worth the time and effort for me, or perhaps I do not put as much value in gaining followers as some of you do?

On a new account, I can establish the profile / boards / pins and begin receiving traffic, saves, and impressions on day one. I treat followers as a by-product of what I am doing, but not something I am gunning for.

This is not unique to me, it's evident also with many large 6-10million monthly user accounts you will find. You will notice many of these actively do not follow users. They let the viral nature or quality of their pins and activity do the talking on the platform.

It works in that people follow back but it doesn't work in that when I have tried I got no traffic to my site from following. Used to be you would get traffic just from following but not now; so I am not sure what actual use it has? other than just showing a positive number.

Times have changed from the days your follower count could directly reflect your success in getting click-throughs.

They have openly described how followers can directly affect your pins through the "follower tab" = if you get repins from here, it sends a signal to Pinterest which then places your pin in a new "pool" for further reach on the platform.

For me, this is not useful. Sure it helps, but how can you measure the probability that one Pin is going to tick all these magic boxes for Pinterest for increased exposure?

Instead, I opt for a more manageable strategy. I go by the face value success of my pins /boards/ accounts. If a past pin receives a good reaction for impressions, saves, clicks, earning I take note.

I judge its target keywords, design elements, CTR and earning it has received on the domain then look to imitate it's a success or improve on it by automating a batch of new images in its likeness.

Doing this continually over time will only ever help your traffic / earning and as a by-product your followers.

find someone in your niche and follow a small amount to test like 50 wait a couple days.
