    Hi everyone.

I have been testing out new methods for making the most out of my amazon sites and i found a great way to get extra money for each item i sell.

Basically i have a site that promotes amazon links of Gaming laptops and desktops. Iv been getting the sellers around 1 sales a day, making me around 40$ a day.

I know that sounds good but in reality its only 6% commissions and as always us blackhatters ALWAYS want more.

So i decided to try something new. I emailed the seller that i promote his products and tell him the following:

"Hi, as you may or may not be aware i have been bringing many sales to your product over the past year and i am about to move on to another seller that sells similar products at a better price but before i do so i would like to ask you a quick question. On average i get you around 1 sale each day, if you would like me to continue doing this, would you be willing to consider to sign a deal with me as follows:

For each sale i get, i would like to receive from you a further 8% of your profits in order for me to keep promoting your product"

You get the idea. So basically i got a reply yesterday from the guy and he accepted! So now im getting over 14% commission as opposed to 6%. DOUBLE THE PROFITS

I suggest you guys try this and report back if the seller accepts

8% of his profits and 6% of sale doesnt make more than 14% ^^

You sent a buyer to his laptop of 450 USD. You recieve 27 USD(6%). Buyers profit is probaly a maximum of 50 USD(Lol probaly less) so that would go 50 USD minus 27 USD ~ 23 USD in profit for seller. He then have to pay you 1.84 USD(8% of profit).

So basicly you got around 0.5% more on your sale commission.

This. And your negotiation strategy is terrible at best. Imagine if this guy called your bluff and then you had to come crying for him to take you back, and he agrees, only if you agree to a commission of 5%. High pressure negotiation tactics can be effective, but next time consider actually seeking out a competitor and then started a bidding war between them.

Good grief OP your mathematics are horrendous.

If $40 is approx 6% commission, then the items are selling for approx $666.

A seller would be doing well to get a profit margin of 10% on any consumer electronic (unless he was SE'ing them or something). So let's say his profits are $66.

8% of $66 is $5.28 - bringing your commission to $45.28. Not 14%. Not "doubling your profit". Even at 20% profit margin (which let me tell you now is not happening) it's $9.76 commission, $49.76 overall.

Add into the fact that there is absolutely no reason why this seller needs to disclose his profits with you and thus could say that his profit was $5 per laptop, giving you a brand spanking $0.40 on top. None of this advice is actually actionable or indeed enforceable.

Not that I believe this entire scenario actually happened outside the figment of your imagination anyway, but if you want to give advice on making profit, it might want to be able to work out your profit to begin with.

Sounds good, if I were making $40 a day, I would be devastated.

And your reading comprehension is non-existent. Are you going to correct people's spelling errors next? What other lofty goals do you aspire to on this forum. Maybe start a "journey" thread, and tell the whole world about your journey from offering sexual favors on some street corner in Thailand to being today's featured "Romper Room Playtoy" on the website "www.gaymenindiapers.com"

Uness anyone has been led astray here by the malignant influence of our brown-nosing "teacher's pet" here, the point of the OP's post is that these commissions are not necessarily static, and that if you have a proven track record of delivering income to someone, it is a perfectly legitimate business move to give the person an opportunity to continue to receive those sales in exchange for a modest and well-deserved increase in the commission percentage. Everyone is pissing all over themselves looking at the increase in commission as if that described the entirety of the equation. Apparently our brown-nosing friend only studied mathematics and got kicked out (for constantly fondling himself in class) before he had a chance to learn algebra. The OTHER side of the equation is that the Seller gets RELIABILITY. He can count on the referrals, after all there is a "X" month history of them. He can budget his inventory, predict his manpower needs, etc... A worse alternative is a guy that does 12 today (creating undue stress on the system), and then you don't hear from him again for 2 weeks, when he wants 20 more this time. Rather than fucking around with guy "B", a lot of sellers would much prefer guy "A", and would pay a premium to keep him.

You expect to get a raise after good & consistent performance at work for a year, don't you. Unless of course you've never had a job and have been living on the government dole all your life, and "work" is just a theoretical concept. It's easy for a person that has never actually done anything to criticize and presume to coach someone that actually does something. All they have to do is manipulate words to appear that they know something, instead of facing the world as it really is, and testing those methods in a place where you either win or loss, make money or lose money. Theoretical platitudes don't mean shit when your income determines whether you pay the rent this month, or wind up out on the street. Welfare queens do not know this, and yet still feel empowered to offer opinions on subjects that are completely alien to them. In order to know WHAT works, you must first understand WHAT WORK IS.

This is not a complicated concept. It's done in business by virtually everyone, each and every day. What makes this post "outside the box" and worth paying attention to, is that the OP is taking this very standardized business practice and applying it in areas of Internet Marketing that many people might not have thought of on their own, but now that the idea has been planted, many people might see a significant increase in their income.

The OP should be given Thanks, and Rep+ for this suggestion, and not catcalls and retarded "Teacher, you forgot to assign homework" platitudes from Sponge Bob Douche Pants that failed to understand the post and reduced the level of his comments to the stagnantly low level of his intellectual functionality. Maybe next, he'll make comments about your mother, hyuck, hyuck, and then snap your bare ass with a towel in the High School locker room, hyuck, which was the epitome of his life's achievements. He still gets a stiffie, every time he fondly reflects about all those round, supple and sweaty male asses he used to snap with that towel.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

What they said.........apart from the menindiapers stuff......dont know what the fuck thats about !!

Too much internet marketing is done behind the anonymity of a keyboard, makes people forget that you can pick up the phone and try to negotiate better deals for yourself.

Slight edit: The title of the thread is a bit confrontational......Strictly speaking all you are doing is "negotiating better terms from a client who is aware of your track record" I wouldnt frame it as Threatening anything, even if it is perfectly legal.

Not a good way to do business or build relationships in business.
Blackmail is a short term solution. Your time is often better spent doing something constructive like building another site and selling other products.
Knowing that the people in your profit chain think your a grabbing blackmailing twat - and being pretty sure they are looking for ways to replace you as an affiliate isn't something I'd advise.

Having a great relationship with your suppliers/developers and getting in on the ground floor whenever they launch a new product.
Get given freely the extra percentage that you are blackmailing them for (you wouldn't believe how many suppliers/developers/shipping agents give me a preferential percentage that I never even asked for)

That's the way I roll. And I sleep at night knowing that the guys I do business with value my support and go the extra mile for me when issues occur or opportunities arise because I do the same for them.

Going to add to that last post that this year alone I've received free products from Amazon sellers and a few other "deliverable" goods sellers/manufacturers.
I often get on free trials, get higher commissions, bonuses the works. Golfing trips, cases of wine, gift vouchers even 17 days in Cancun and often premium percentages of commission that are not even openly advertised.
Never ask for any of it. Always say thank you - and carry on doing the best job I can.
It's not hard (it's simple) it feels better and it works in the long term.
"This product is finishing soon - but hey we have a new one coming out. Fancy a free pre release sample? We'll give you 15 cents in the dollar coms rather than the 8 we are offering everyone else. Here's some tickets to see your favourite sports team. Great to have you on board"
That sort of email is worth waking up to :)

I doubt that you have a site on that niche OP. Amazon has a commission cap on laptops, the max commission you will get is $25 even if you sold a 2k alienware laptop @ 8% commission rate, youll still get $25 max. I don't know where you got your figure OP, cause I have a site on that niche averaging around 1 sale a day, and I switched all my high ends laptop to newegg since they pay more.
