DEP.: You Get What You Pay For (really?!)

Recently I bought a SEO package for a brandnew site of mine to test the waters (not here from BHW). For the amount of links included it was a bit prices ($149) but I thought, well I don't care about the numbers, I care about quality. Perhaps its good.

Today I found out, he just has bought 5 fiverr gigs to complete that job. How I found it out?

I never purchased from fiverr for this site, but if you find something like that

    Code:
    http://fiverr.com/users/XXX/manage_orders/FOMANYNUMBERS
in your referrers, you can guess who is building your backlinks.
Personally I don't use fiverr on my own sites, so I am not comfy with that kind of work and now I know I'll never use this SP again.

Ah, at least you know. Personally, I find Fiverr really shifty for SEO. Where it stands up in graphic work, testimonials, it's utterly terrible for SEO work (especially after the recent Google updates).

I'm so paranoid nowadays that I don't trust anyone on fiverr for any seo. I got behind a little and picked a very highly rated fiverr seller to do some local directory listings, a total of 30, I provided him with all the information, which he decided to fix before he used it, and now I am cleaning up a mess I never should have created.

When I pointed the issue out, he said he thought my title and descriptions were to bland. Now I have a customer listed in 30 directories with a company name of "When you need windows, you need them done cerrectly", with the misspelling.

What does it take to find someone to go where you tell them and do exactly what you tell them? Apparently more than $5.

Fiverr is too bad for tier 1 links. But I buy some gigs to have xrumer service for tier 3,4 links. I have seen some of SEO service providers resell fiverr service as main SEO service.

It's pretty easy to spot people like this.

When you start getting stats from fiverr related gigs you never paid for or communicated with your link, then it possible you outsourced to someone.

Another thing you also need to know is, some of this SEO quacks run fiverr gigs as well for back links.

Well if they just bought the 2nd or 3rd tier links from fiver, well then it might be even cheaper┬┤since some stuff on fiverr is realy worth it... I cant understand you bought a $150 service which was also available on fiver for a fiver :p. If yes, then that would be realy shitty!! I would go on a rampage hahahaha!

Check what that fiverr user is selling? maybe it was just tier 3 scrapebox comments?

How does the rest of the work look like and how was the quality?

    Good luck! or else:

Good thing that you caught it the first time subster instead of becoming a repeat customer, only to find out that everything was being outsourced for pretty cheap lol.

Thanks for sharing. Do they always include the full website name? All sellers?

Fiverr is fine for simple tasks, but like outsourcing any SEO at all, it's heavily task dependent if it's worth the money. If you are sculpting structures that generate link juice, avoid any outsourcing... been my motto for a long time.
I allow fiverr to do tier 1 links... I just am very particular.

I do not allow fiverr to do anything automated that involves articles/content of any type...doesn't mean there aren't good services over there though, if you know where to look.

i would never hire fiverr for seo, nor for anything that could have a negative impact on one of my sites.... After Google penalties began really the only place were seo ( and many other services ) are reputable enough is here, BHW, where most members are savvy enough, and specially where a sales thread if selling crappy services would not survive the reviews... :)

Updates will hit any and every site that is ranking in the long term... no service, or service providers are going to be able to save you from it.
BHW lacks a lot of different kinds of services, that other forums have a lot to offer.

Sorry, I am not understanding this.
Why would it show referrer as 'fiverr' etc.?

Does that mean your 'service provider' PM the fiverr seller with your URL,
and the fiver seller clicked on the link? Therefore, it shows fiverr as referrer?

If this is true the seller deserves to be named and shamed in my opinion!

Contrary to what some people say, you should never use Fiverr for SEO unless you are willing to lose the site. Now given you didn't know this service provider was going to pull a fast one on you this is no surprise.

This should be a lesson to all folks. If you have a site that's making you money and your income depends on SEO then why would you put the future of your site into the hands of someone who is getting paid $4 to complete a job?

One thing I never outsource is SEO. NEVER. If you know how do to do it, you should do it yourself. It's way too easy to screw it up these days and you never really know the quality of links that are being pointed at your site. Reviews can be faked very easily.

The only things to outsource are 1. Design (logos, graphics, web design), 2. Coding (custom bots, javascripts, etc.), 3. Content (Money/Tier 1)

Anything that has a direct impact on your site i.e. link building should not be left up to some dude half way across the world making $4 it's a mistake. They have almost nothing to lose if they tank your site.

Again, you're wrong... demonstrably so, it just depends what you buy. There are certain things that are just fine to outsource to fiverr. The more specific, and simple the task, the better though.
