How to have picture in google search results?
When you do google search on some topic you get few blog results with pictures of owners. How to do that? Can it be used some other picture, not a portrait of owner?

You need to setup an author link.

I do this to every single one of my sites and it's great because more than 90% of my competitors do not do the same.

    setup a google+ page
under "contributor to" add your site.
You also want to add a "rel=author" tag on your site in the code. Instead of adding on every page just add it in the wordpress editor on the footer or wherever you want.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

even with proper on site and off site SEO, the images in search really depend on the query. It doesn't always show for every query!

Yes Google seems to arbitrarily choose when to make the authorship picture show up. For some keywords it will show up and for others it will not.

Does someone from google check it? I mean, if blog is about food you could use a picture of some food. :)

Would you recommend this for pages that are business websites...re: selling services and such?

Yes! especially for services. I do strictly leadgen for local businesses with some affiliate stuff mixed in on the same sites. Just drop a picture of a classy pretty girl.

I'm not sure how that would work I do recall something about it having to be a picture of a person although I don't know how they check; maybe they use some kind of image recognition. Purely conjecture.

For food, there's a lot more options for rich snippets so that you can put the picture of the food on there with a star rating as well. If this doesn't boost your CTR I don't know what will.

    Here's an example:

Yeah I'm sure they'd use some recognition that it's a profile of a human's face, as it clearly states that's a requirement. They wouldn't manually enforce this I'd brag to state.

I'm going to have to verify the site and Google+ account using the email technique from the same domain, as it's not verifying authorship through a rel tag and Contributor To link from the desired Google+ page. I've read this occurs, but I'm not sure why as I'm certain I did it correctly. Just keep that in mind if you try to verify authorship and it fails.

You need to use a photo of a person, and a "real" name, though, you can't have an author picture from a company or use a non-human image. Luckily, though, that's what puts a lot of people off making the effort.

Do google search on term "peerfly offers", first will come up blog with non human image. Some hand drawn image. How you explain this?
