All I'm doing good is uploading 2-5 pics a day haven't monetized it at all.

Well I post every 4-5 hours.. Times vary from whenever I wake up so I'm testing without realising I guess and noticed no change in time.
All manual so I'm not following at all.
I make sure I only upload the highest quality pics to maximise engagement
I reply to all relevant comments and all messages

How about joining some engagement groups?
They are groups full of high-powered accounts that all like each other's photos. This helps you to hit the explore page and make your pages go viral.

I've seen quite a few on here.. But surely the group will have all different niches in and wouldn't benefit me? Also have you had experience with any engagement groups before?

I don't want to spend any money on this instagram project.. Want to say I've come off no worse off if it fails.. And how can that benefit me? I have seen many people do it but the pages I tag won't do anything about the tag?

It's best with niche relevant accounts. of course. There's still a huge benefit to high powered likes from random accounts.
In a large bomb round you can easily get 150+ likes on a photo, mostly from accounts with 20k+ followers. This alone can often be enough to make you reach the explore page.
