Hey guys,
I am currently thinking of methods on how to effectively and efficiently build a fanpage on facebook. it is going to be a white hat fanpage, so no blackhat monetization, cpa offer whatsoever, the traffic generation can be blackhat to gain some traction.

What are your methods for lets say a fan page in the making money niche or weight loss niche to grow likes?

Apart from posting as valuable content as possible, what else can I do to actually be seen?

With budget, it's faily easy: pay other fan page owners, buy some ppc traffic, boost your fan page posts...

But what to do without budget? How do you guys manage to do that?

Thanks in advance.

Very slowly. Share your page with everyone you can and get your friends/followers to do the same. Also put a link to your fan page on your website or websites.

thanks but yea aside from sharing with friends which i did and it just brought me a very samll amount of likes and nothing happened afterwards so..

How many friends do you have? Maybe you need to get more friends or join more groups of similar interests?

Its weird because I got another account and I invited my freinds from my second acc and after I did it I couldn't invite anybody again, the option just disappeared, however with my original acc which is linked to the fan page (admin) its still possible (didnt use my main acc yet for this purpose to be honest)

They saw that your content wasn't good enough. It's simple truth, and if you think about it why should people like your page, share it, be active? This is the BASICS of sales psychology, and rather psychology in general. Take it like a science, you find a theory by collecting evidence and data, you process it and test the theory, and record your results. An advanced technique is to retarget people who liked your page based on their content behavior, i.e. people like dog pictures on your animal page, then you target them by the types of dogs, objects in the pictures, what they shared or commented about, etc all into your persona campaign for them.

I use hashtag. It may be a slow method but it counts 'cause it contributes a natural likes. If you have some budget you might want to use facebooks ads and make sure it's targeted.

Videos(Informative/Vines/Interesting/Funny or anything that could be viral and should be relevant to your page niche). This time, Facebook users aren't using it for just chatting but to look interesting things like 9gag. I've tried it and gave me 2-3 page likes (This time i have 12-14 page likes only), this time I'm not really meant to create this page to grow but just for testing. The thing is even 1 person shared it, this might be a large progress for a fan page.

I swear i am impressed by your advanced theoretical thinking of all this, reminds me of myself. this was my first theoretical explanation but i also thought that it is normal and I would just need much more traffic since the only things that get heavily shared are those funny/shocking viral videos/news/pics...

are you down for connecting via skype? sounds maybe a bit too forward or something but when i sense someone who sees things like i do i want to connect with them.

@SuperRake: Also nice contribution, like your posting! I will try to find niche based "funny" content to get things going..I am still trying to find the right content strategy and the right traffic generation process .....

From my experience...

FB ads are the best, they will get you atleast 3-4K Real and Active fans for your fanpage. In case of posts, you will get more than that. The target you set in the ads is the key here. Depending upon your business, you need to choose location and target ppl. In that way, I got about 4K real fans in 2 days. After all the setting up, you need to remind all the fans about your page and post. To achieve that for every status/photo you post, tag it with some of your fans! It will work, as it worked for me..

Sounds great, how much did you pay for each like / or for all of the real likes generated? I know it's targeting and niche dependend but just out of curiosity, how much was it in your case? :)

btw this thread is getting more and more interesting & valuable! :-)

Another way to get real likes/followers is to give something away. This is really helpful, if you have a site within a fashion/entertainment niche. Give something away that everyone would want. Like a gift card on Amazon or something similar. Of course, people might end up leaving once they lose or win the money, but you don't have to pay much. Maybe $10 gift card.

Jaykub,

try to publish every sexy type of post that is going well these days.
For example in weight loss niche - Videos of transformations (On YT you can find buttload of "From fat to ripped in 90 days" videos) or motivational videos, nice photos/pictures with quotes, links to interesting articles on well-established fitness sites/blogs

Then, the best way to get (active) fans is using FB ads. Search fanpages similar to yours and then target the ad to their fans. Test different copy and pictures (very important).

After you got decent amount of fans, you can make relationship with other similar pages (with similar count of fans) and make some deal to promote each other.

If you have website to your fan page you can also add FB pixel to your site and then target people, which visited it.

Hope it helps!

I have an idea of sharing fb fanpage posts in popular groups, will it work?
Also works communicating with your fans (replying to their comments, liking their comments, asking engaging questions (aka stimulating questions), etc...).

  1. Run Facebook Paid Ads.
  2. Publish a Stream of Interesting and Useful Content.
  3. Run a Contest to Get More Likes.
  4. Offer Incentives (discounts, coupons) to Get More Fans.
  5. Find the Similar Fan Pages to Share Posts or Links (S4S).
  6. Contact Influencers in Your Niche to Share Your Fan Page.
  7. Drive Traffic from Websites, Other Social Media Sites and Email List.
