How to Get Traffic For Survey Site

I recently built a simple "paid surveys" site, which has a bit of info on doing surveys online and CPA offers for some survey networks to sign up for.

I was wondering what kind of traffic would work best for this kind of site?

I think someone here suggested to post on a job ad on craigslist and then direct people to the website, did anyone try a method like this?

Some ideas I had was craigslist, Yahoo Answers, some free classified sites (anyone know any good ones), or using sites like Digg or StumbleUpon.

I dont want to use PPC like Adw0rds, the Cost per click seems to be way to high to turn in any decent profit with such a site, as the offers (I put around 10), pay only about $1.50 per lead.

Does anyone have any ideas for marketing such a site, and which methods work best to get traffic to it? Thanks

Go to freebie forums and freebie groups in myspace etc and pump it to people who know and use freebies already

Offer certain members of certain forums a bonus 'just for being a member at ________" if they get X amount referrals.

People who get into those sites are ultimately money motivated, so extra incentive will always work.

Dominate low searched keywords for Paid Surveys and link to your site of course.. this can either be in the form of other websites/blogs/ezines/etc. How you choose to do it is your choice, but since there are so damn many of them, I say take the low competition Paid Survey keywords and dominate them!

Some examples :
"get paid for filling out survey"
"paid survey opportunities"
"get paid per survey"
"free paid survey site"
"paid survey panels"
"paid marketing survey"
"paid survey websites"
"best paid survey sites"
"paid survey panel"

That's one way.. Dominating an army of low searched key terms through the use of articles/blogs/other sites/etc/squidoo, how ever you'd like to do it. Just make sure to Digg all of them when you're done.

The Paid Survey crowd is ignorant.. there's a good bit of CB High Gravity products on just this topic and any traffic works with these people. It's not too hard to target people who want to make money using only their opinion.

I always wanted to start up a freebie site since i was 16, not really good with programming.... I used to make money referring people. It was good money at the time and easy.. not so much nemore. But a freebie site just payout fast and have good rep.. Be active in lots of forums and you should be set. Also pretend to be a trader and pay people to go to your site and talk about your site like its the shit... If you want to help me on making a freebie site i can give you tips on ways to make people come.

Make sure to check out freelunchroom.com they just got fucking huge as hell over the year.. They were big, but i stoped trading for like 6 months came back and there was a lot more traders then before! meaning alot more people to rep your site!

Uhh... yeah thats good advice for a freebie site like the ones giving free iPods and stuff for completing offers... except that the site I made is a SURVEY SITE. All it is is some links to survey CPA offers and general info on paid surveys, I dont give out freebies.

It might be worth the re-write to change the site from a "review" type site, I think you said it was (sorry long day at work and I'm a little drunk) and switch it over to a "free" mlm.

Then you can post to "network marketing" forums and the like a "free new way to make money w/ network marketing"

Tell people, that by completing all the survey offers, you'll be welcoming them into your "business oppurtunity" and give them a "marketing guide or training" on how to earn money by bringing in new members.

(You can just hash together some of the info from this very forum into an "online mlm marketing guide")

If you want to be legit, I'm sure there are basic affiliate php scripts that you can use to see who brought you the traffic and actually give them something for their trouble. If not, screw 'em...

My day job has me doing alot of work on the network side and the biggest problem we're having right now is affiliates incentivizing traffic by tying "free" offers into some garbage free mlm biz-opp. (correction: thats the 2nd biggest problem. The biggest problem is hackers stealing credit card #'s and using proxies to sign up for aff offers for the $30 payout. It's usually 3-4 weeks out before we start realising it was all garbage traffic)

I hope some of what I said registered here and maybe added some value. (Again, drunk) If anyone needs clarification on what I've said, let me know. I'll probly edit this tomorrow, when I should be sober.

What about it? The survey site is just a straight "make a bit of extra $$$ online" site, I dont offer incentives, as most of the survey site membership CPAs I have on it cannot be incentivised. Yes, I am working on an incentive site, but its totally different from the Survey site.
