OK so after the last few rounds of Google Algo I've had many sites hit and were dropped from their top rankings. But, a few of these sites have just disappeared from the SERPs all together for their main keywords. I can't find them in the first 20 pages at all. They are all still indexed since they come up when I do a "site:mydomain". These sites are all 3+ years old so it's no temporary dance since they are not new.

So what is the best strategy here to get them back again ranking some where in the SERPs? Are they in some supplemental listing or what? Or is this the real sandbox that people talk about. These few sites have disappeared for like the last 1.5 months.

Is it still just doing more backlinks and adding content to get them back? Any suggestions?

Most of the site recent site drops seemed to either be caused by site content issues or relying too much on a particular type of backlink that has been devalued. The firs thing I would probably do is take a real good look at al of my on site factors and make sure they are really in good shape. After that I would analyze my link profile and see how it stacks up against the sites that are ranking well for you keywords. Then make a plan on how to improve yours and beat them.

Thanks for the feedback. Onsite I don't have any issues and sites are pretty much optimized. It could just be a matter of content length or not enough new content, but I can either add on or add new pages as well.

I guess my main concern should be the backlinks then and focus my efforts on getting a variety now.
