Hi Blackhatworld! So I've been in the game for quite a few years now. I have one site specifically that I focus on now. It gets about 20-40k views/month (yeah, big variance). Lots of regulars, good social media followings, and a really good sized newsletter (for my website, at least, I'm sure some of ya'll would think it is tiny haha). I'm in a comedy/helpful niche. I write about a lot of different things, but usually add in humor. Back about a year and a half ago I made a couple videos similar in tune to my writing (comedy) and my readers really liked them. I had a lot of shares/views/likes really fast. I ended up deleting them though, as I got a "professional" day job, and didn't want them to pop up and make anything weird at work. But I do surveys of my audience pretty frequently, and one of the things I get most (and in Twitter comments) is always about going back to some video format. Since I've grown size-ably since then, I know it could be a pretty cool idea to get back into it, and could even potentially be really profitable. But I'm terrified of it. I can do video editing fine, and I make videos fine - but the idea of people I know (especially at the day job) finding them freaks me out lol. How did/do you guys get over it? Should it be something I'm open with about at work? Not mention it? Don't do it until after I get to blogging full-time? I'd be glad to hear any advice.
