Like an idiot, i signed a 12 month gym contract and I am only in month 5. I want out!!!

Anyone know the best way. I read the t + cs and there is no way out without paying for the remainder of the months. :(

Some places say if you are moving a certain distance away you can get out of it.

    Yeah, good luck with that!

Gym memberships are a nightmare to deal with if you don't want to use them.

I say, suck it up and go...you obviously signed up for a reason...since its been 5 months, I would say holiday guilt or something like it...new years resolution maybe.

    Take advantage of it...

Depends on the gym but there should be some exception for health/medical or if you move. Of course, if it's a chain, they'll just say oh well we have a branch in (your "new town"). I'd say get a doctors note saying you are not allowed to do any strenuous activity.

Ummm... Well you obviously got it for a reason but if you don't want it no more than you could...

Talk to the manager an tell him that your broke and you cant pay it anymore. lol

You could also go to the doctors and have your doctor write a note to the gym saying that you cant workout because of health problems. or if you know any doctors or nurses just have them write it. or just write the note your self pretending to be your doctor. And than bring it to your gym and explain to them how you really want to keep your membership but you doctor says that it is extremely dangerous for you to work out so you have to cancel your membership but you dont have any money to pay for the remaining months.

OR JUST GO TO THE GYM LOL BECAUSE IF YOU DONT YOUR GOING TO SIT AT HOME ALL DAY IN FRONT OF YOUR COMPUTER AND ONCE YOU START MAKING A LOT OF MONEY YOUR GOING TO BE RICH BUT FAT! LOL

    thanks for your replies guys..

Well the reason i joined this gym was because it had access to 15 tennis courts included in the monthly fee of GBP83. This gym is about 12 miles from my house.

Now, I have just found anotjher health centre which is only 1 mile away and also has about 15 courts. Best of all, the new place has all three surfaces (clay, hard court and grass) and is only 25 gbp per month.

So I want out of this first fuking gym!!!! :) grrrrrrrr

these things are a fucker to get out of.. people who sign up then never visit are their best customers and they dont want to lose them. my personal approach is to give them the middle finger and cut their payments, my credit rating is dead anyway so i dont care what threats they make. failing my method write a letter begging the manager to get out of the contract.. it sometimes works... sometimes

One way to do it is do something horrible in the gym where they will revoke your membership.
