I read that your site needs to be this:
Site ranks first for the keyword(s) that generate the Sitelinks listing
    Easily spiderable, structured navigation
    Fairly high natural search traffic
High click through rates from the search results page
    Useful outbound links
Inbound links from high quality sites
Site age is several years or older

What is most important to getting sitelinks for a forum?

    Absolutely Required:

    Other things that matter:

I've seen many not even a year old domains have sitelinks. They also didn't have any outbound links but adsense/affiliate.

Quality inbound links are pretty much required to be 1. for a "fairly high search traffic" anyway and high CTR is a given for 1. unless you write your description in chinese or something.

Site navigation can also be crap and it can still get sitelinks.

So in the end it comes down to:

    1. position for a highly searched term.
