I'm planning on sending some mailshots out, however the guy who I was going to use for the bulk email send has said that he wont send the email as it does not comply with CAN-SPAM Act.... Its not a spammy email and its nothing worse than the SEO emails I receive on a regular basis... Any good tips to get around this? Thanks!

Build a mailing list with double opt-in

It's out of your kindness heart that you don't damage the businesses of those people emailing you their SEO services unsolicited, especially if they don't have an unsubscribe link, because you could get them in more trouble than they realize.

Thanks! yea this is what I have got so far:

Make sure you clearly identify who is sending the email
    Include your physical postal address
Include an opt-out link, and honour unsubscribers promptly

    Lemon Squeezy...

Any more info about this would be a great help!

I think the main things are only sending to people who have opted to receive mail directly from you.

    Include unsubscribe link.

Honour unsubscribe requests, and also remove any bounce emails/undeliverable a etc.

Don't host your site or send emails from American servers.
Or get someone from outside the US to do this for you.

This act means sweet f^ck all for 95% of the world.

Host in one of many countries that don't give a flying feck about can-spam and do whatever the hell you want.
This is not international law - if you live in the US outsource your spamming and keep descrete about your communication with your outsourcer.

Better still - find a better easier way of making cash that doesn't involve spamming at all (ok - that's a bit harsh..sorry)
