I know by default it just uses your name as the anchor text, but isn't this bad? I heard that you should have a lot of diversity in your links and also relevant to the target website, but how did you get around this with moderation? I'm worried that if I go out there and do a bunch of blog posts with really good SEO keywords in the "NAME" field that they will reject all of my comment submissions.

    Any suggestions?

Sometime they accept keywords in name. While commenting check what others have used, if everyone used name instead of keywords you also use website name. to Diversify anchor text comment on other blogs like drupal, blogengine etc.

    Hi mate,

The best way is now famous is select a long tail KW for a site. Such as 5 KW per page for a site. Make sure all are having low competition, then have a list of blog commenting sites.

1.)Separate the list with premium quality, moderate quality and low quality.
2.)Have a set of KW's for the three groups.
3.)Start posting the comment in premium blogs with the proper guide lines provided
4.)In moderate blogs there will be like mix and match of using the keywords. So act according to the blogs previous post
5.)Low quality blogs won't have too many restrictions, so you can place the KW in some blogs and author name in other blog

Do the work like a pattern, not in clumsy way. Because this will make you get aware in the future, like from which KW you getting good ranking and traffic flow for that. You can track this using the web master tool.

Think twice before you act is the best Proverb suits to IM.

    Cheers,
    Morty

If you want the comment to get approved at "quality" blogs, you have to have a name as anchor text.
I don't recommend blog comments as a strategy if you want to have link diversity.
