I am a ecommerce website selling hair related product. I mainly sell to African American Women. I get about 40k monthly visitors w/ a 5% return rate when it comes to purchases. Average sale is $100-$400

I am putting up a affiliate website within a week with link which will have banners and text links. Affiliates will be able to login, track clicks, return visits, sales, campaigns, etc.

I was wondering, do you guys have any other methods of getting more affiliate? Is there a network(s) I can link up with to get more affiliates? I was thinking of making my payouts bi-weekly, is that ok?

Looking to get a larger amount of affiliates to sign up (men and woman). Affiliate sign up are free and we will offer a Customer Service # for our affiliates. Payouts will be made through Paypal or Cashier checks. Looking for some advice from people who built good affiliate network or some people who have experience in this field . Thanks in advanced!!

well if you wanna go BIG and get thousands of affiliate automatically you could join one of the bigger affiliate networks as a merchant and promote some CPA that would pay per sale.. i've read that it costs roughly $10,000 upfront to get started, but i'm sure there are a lot of variables to that number

so if u have the money that's definitely the best option, if not... if i were in your shoes i'd look for chics that video blog about makeup/hair products on youtube etc and PAY them to signup as an affiliate and recommend ur products in their videos... they get quite a lot of views

Thanks for the info. But will try the 2nd option. Do you know any big affiliate networks?

Any other suggestions?

hydra, neverblueads, copeac, maxbounty, cj are the bigger ones... but there are A LOT of them, you shouldn't have any trouble finding big affiliate networks.... use a site like offervault.com

Thanks for the answers to my questions. But what if I am using my own affiliate program. I am looking to use Idevdirect and need to find a way to get people to sign up for my affiliate program and use the text and banner images

Looking for a good method to get affiliates to sign up by the bunches with my program.

try webgains they promote a lot of pay per sale sites like yours.

This again is kinda like a network. Looking for a method to bring affiliate members to our affiliate site and promote our product

Anyone else?

I guess you can post of forums related to affiliate networks and promote your site there. But a CPA network if your best choice, don't expect thousands of affiliates to pop up from no where out of the blue. There aren't really ways you can promote affiliate programs unless you have a list of people interested in promoting products related to your niche.

What I do for affliates is post on webmaster and IM forums .

maybe MarketLeverage, Affiliate Venture group, shareasale - you could get in around $1000 deposit and test it. If you get results fine, if not pay out on affiliate sales(if any) and pull rest of deposit out. Many smaller networks are easy to work with.

Even commission is per sale you still should be careful with fraud. Just make sure to get your payment processing in order- decent merchant account with fraud screening, no vcc etc should do it.

You also could try outsourcing places like GAF,RAC etc and recruit affiliates, maybe even CL

another suggestion might be to use per lead commissions combined with auto responders, follow up etc. using a small squeeze page and paying on short form submit/email will be easier to recruit masses of affiliates. You could also add backend products. However pay per lead affiliates tend to be using more blackhat , so good tracking is a must.

good luck
