Creative marketing goes a long way. If you have a business then you are probably doing SEO, PPC, media buys, and various other advertising to get your phone to ring and visitors to your website. What is the IDEAL customer? (the applies to ANY business) one that is pre-sold on the product or service you are offering one that has a personal connection to your product or service You will see the highest closing ratio when someone has these 2 qualities... How can you get someone to send you these people on a regular basis for $20? SIMPLE... A t-shit Wait, a t-shit? Yup, a freaking t-shirt! People go to extremes for a t-shit. Want proof? Let's take a look at 3 examples... 1. Girls Gone Wild For years girls have been getting naked, showing their tits, and doing anything else asked of them for a t-shirt. Also, I would say they were buying in such large quantities that a GGW t-shirt cost them approx $3 to manufacture. Girls ruining their lives for a $3 t-shirt. Amazing. We loooooove t-shirts, especially FREE ones! 2. T-shirt Cannons Go to any major sporting event and there is a good chance that there will be t-shirts wither thrown into the crowd by a promotions team or at-shirt cannon. It usually always results in a scuffle to get the free t-shirt. If the t-shirt happens to be shot into the area of a group of heavy drinkers there likely to be a fight for a silly t-shirt. Do not underestimate the power of a free t-shirt! 3. Apply for a credit card & get a t-shirt Again, this happens at most sporting events and college campus halls...credit card companies will throw out a low quality, horrible fitting (why are they always XXXXXL? lol) crappy t-shirt...but people line up like sheep wanting one. They fill out credit card offers without even thinking about whether or not they need the credit or whether or not they can afford to have an inquiry hit their score. They don't give a shit because they are about to get a free t-shirt! Makes perfect sense, right? Ok, back to the point... PEOPLE LOVE FREE TSHIRTS! So, get some made...and be creative. Not just your brand and contact info. Think of a catchy slogan. If you give someone a free tshirt with your brand on it they will automatically feel obligated to talk about your brand... So, where do you find these type of people? My favorite place... THE GYM Why? Well, everyone at the gym needs more tshirts...also it is an easy intro...once you make some friends there just toss them one. "Hey man, we had some extras and figured everyone that works out can't ever have enough t-shirts." Find me someone that will turn down a free tshirt? They don't exist. Second, these people are dedicated. Think about it - they show up to the gym every day at the same time, regardless of the weather or anything else....I go to the gym every morning at 6am. I see the same people there every single day...and "gym people" are a tight group - once they know about your brand they will spread the word naturally for you. Just think...a $20 t-shirt (on average - depends on the quantity and where you order from) can get you a spokesperson for your brand that will mention your brand to friends and family when appropriate. A single tshirt can lead to a "Hey, my friend just opened a new business - I told him to give you guys a call - he was looking for a web designer" ...and because they have a personal connection with the person that mentioned your brand they are 99% pre-sold and set on doing business with your brand. Tip: Design the t-shirt to connect with the group you are giving them to... In the example I mentioned giving them to gym friends...here is a quick example of something you could do... Think my arms are big? ...you should see my ROI Simple, yet it connects with the person you are giving it to - that little extra effort can result in someone who instantly connects with your brand and becomes one of your best "sales reps" ...all for $20 PEOPLE LOVE FREE TSHIRTS!
