How to find out by which update is my site penalized

    Hi Friends,
    i have a doubt that whenever my site is penalized by a Google update and rankings go down, then how can we find out by which update is my site affected?means there are 3 updates Google panda,Google penguin,humming bird....so how will i know by which update is my site affected?

    That's one of a few decent sites that will use your analytics account to cross reference traffic/rankings against algorithm updates. If you don't have an analytics account then you're best bet is to check the dates you lost your traffic and search for those dates that correspond with google updates.

    However, if you choose to play with googles game, then you might as well go full tilt and play by webmaster guidelines:

    Build solid site architecture
    Cleanup inbound link profile
    Buy/write the best content available
    Dont be evil

    Is it the case that depending on which update gave rise to the penalty, you intend to clean up in a certain way?

    I can't think of another reason for caring about which specific update penalized a site...
