If a domain is privacy protected, is there any way to find out which registrar it is registered at? Also, is there any way to find out if that domain has auto-renewal option checked or not?

There is a domain name and I want to find out if its auto renewal option is on or not.

do a whois lookup search and the registrar will be at the top regardless of privacy or not. u cant find out about auto renewal as that is a privacy issue with the account holder

if u dont have or want to use a terminal or command line for lookups, many websites offer the function, like for example: domaintools.com, just use the whois search in the top right hand corner for the registrars name and other details including domain age and how many drops it has had. if it hasnt had many drops and has been registered for a long time, its a good bet someone is holding on to it ;)

yes, the registrar company always show up on top of the whois results, no matter if the domain is with privacy or not

as about the auto-renew option, no, there's no way to see that

Any idea why the prices here are so high? $35 per year :O http://publicdomainregistry.com/pricing/

So if the owner does not renew the domain and it expires, so after how many days of expiration will it be available for anyone else to buy on Godaddy or any other registrar?

And if the auto renew option is enabled on that domain, it will renew automatically on the date of expiration right?

every registrar company has its own prices.. just like any business

if the domain doesn't get renewed in best case it will be available roughly after 3 months for registration again, because there is redemption period letting the current owner to be able to buy-back the domain again, after that the registrar holds the domain more time...

yes, if auto-renew is turned on it will automatically renew on its expiration date

A domain will be available for registration after it expires like 75 days. Usually a domain will be renewed 15 days before it expires if the auto-renew function is on. But you really want to buy the domain, place an order on some backorder websites.
