The reviews is only after the job done, so maybe you can create a new jobs from other accounts and review yourself:)

OP, you can send your offer to a client and let him/her know you are new on oDesk and you are offering a lowest price for doing that job because of getting 5 stars feedback.

Obviously depends on the kind of job and the client, but a lot of clients hear on this and are available to hire you.
It's way better than to create a fake job. + if you create a fake job, you will lose 10% from the amount you'll pay.

Btw, check out http://www.jobire.com, you will get a list of freelancer jobs that are relevant from your skills immediately.

I would say since I have some Odesk, eLance experience, that getting started on those bidding sites are the hardest part.Like said before, try to get yourself reviews by yourself. Competition is super high nowadays there, nobody will pay attention on you if you have 0 reviews at all

This, it takes money to make money. Well not always, but it definitely makes the process much more efficient.
