On the old BHW, I had a button that went to all my threads, sorted by the latest reply.

I would bookmark something like this: http://www.blackhatworld.com/search/member?user_id=75780&content=thread

I generally post a lot of threads from hiring, to BSTs to guides, etc. I like to read every reply that comes in, however I'm not sure which threads have been replied to and which haven't now.

    1. These search results doesn't show me when the last reply was.
    2. It isn't sorted by latest reply. It's sorted by thread creation date.

If I don't get tagged in the reply (and so far, I haven't seen it done much), then I don't know which of my threads I need to check.

You essentially have two options to keep tracks.

    1. Alerts

    - Go here - http://www.blackhatworld.com/account/alert-preferences
    - Make sure the box under Receive an alert when someone... that reads "Replies to a watched thread" is checked.

    - Go here - http://www.blackhatworld.com/account/preferences
    - Make sure the box under that Options reads "Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply..." is checked

This will pull up an alert when you receive a reply to any thread you have participated in.

You can then check - http://www.blackhatworld.com/account/alerts

    2. Watched threads

Once you have the preferences selected - go to

    http://www.blackhatworld.com/watched/threads/all

This will show you all the threads you're watching sorted by their latest replies

    - I don't want to watch threads that I reply to.
    - How do I watch the 500+ threads that I've already started?

Are you referring to the "find latest started threads" button on the old forum? That's the one I used before the update to keep track of my threads. If it is indeed the one you're looking for, go to your profile page, click on the "information" tab, and click on the link that says, "Find All Threads By macdonjo3". I don't think it displays which threads have new replies by default, although perhaps the "Search Again" feature on the same page would work (I haven't tested it yet).

Edit: It doesn't look like the "Search Again" feature displays your threads with the most recent replies.

By using the advanced search, under "Search Threads and Posts", type your name and then the ordering type.

Right exactly. That's the same link I posted above in the OP.

I know some forums have a little bar that has everything you need in 1 go, like this:

Right. I'm afraid Xenforo does not have a core functionality to sort threads by replies.

Nothing that cannot be achieved with a little code though.

For seeing all your theads, you can bookmark - http://www.blackhatworld.com/search/member?user_id=75780&content=thread for now

But I guess you were already aware of that.

Oops, sorry, I didn't click the link you provided in the OP. :p

Yeah, if we could get that feature back, it would be great. I know some members might say the Alerts feature is the same, although I'm not even sure if that feature keeps track of threads we created before the forum migration. Even then, I thought the old feature was fine the way it was.

I only get alerts for quotes and mentions. I don't think there's an option for alerts on threads we've started. :/

I doubt the Alert system would keep track of threads started before the migration. But if there is a particular thread you want to get alerts for, you can always click "Watch thread" at the top right of the thread.

But if you have 100s of threads already up there before the migration. I sympathise completely.

I actually went to some of my old threads and noticed that they are already "watched" by default. I thought it was pretty interesting.

Probably closer to 1000s. Time to head over to the hire a freelancer section to get someone to add them all for me :p

I checked and I don't have any watched threads.

Did you post a reply to any of those threads after the migration? That could've added it to the watch list.

You poor poor man! I sympathize entirely!

Only 1 of them. I checked the others that haven't had replies in over 2 years and the threads were being watched.

Ahh! Then the only other possible explanation is that the thread subscription import was partial for some reason. Could be a bug or a mismatch of certain permutations.

I have replied to a number of threads since the migration and I have 0 watched threads. I am checking my BST thread daily, but that's all I really know how to easily keep my eye on.

I was able to manually customize the advanced search to get it working. I just wish it was a 1-button check.

That query will show all the threads you've participated in and not just threads started by you.

I saw that. So that's not quite the button I'm looking for. I also don't like how I can't tell when the last reply was.

    Hey Mac, Try this. :)

Go into one of the threads you started and up in the right corner just above the first post is a link that says "Watch Thread". Click that and then select "without email notification" from the popup. Then you'll receive an alert anytime someone posts in that thread. Do that in each thread you want to keep track of.

After that it's just a matter of setting the preferences in the alert tab like @BlogPro says in his above post #2. You can choose the option for "Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply". But there isn't an option to select only the threads you start, so a better option for you is to probably just leave that unchecked since you don't want to watch the threads you reply to.

To watch your older threads you started you'll need to take some time to search for and manually choose to watch each one. (You can find all the threads you started by using the "useful links" dropdown at the bottom of the search tool and choose "your threads"). Once you do all that, then you can just maintain it by manually choosing to watch the thread each time you start a new one.

Then to monitor it you can check the watched threads with the link BlogPro posted or use the "show all" link on the alert tab. They both show the same threads just sorted differently. If you're seeing any threads you don't want to watch, then just go into the thread and click "unwatch thread". After you initially set up which threads you want to watch and which you don't then maintaining it is just a matter of remembering to select to watch it each time you start a new thread.

Once you've selected all the threads you want to be watching, then when you click "Show All" in the Alert Tab you can select "Watched Threads" from the Alert Page Account Menu and it will display just the "Unread Watched Threads" with new replies. Which is pretty much what you're looking for.

So, It's not exactly the same functionality as what you're missing from the way vBulletin did it, but it will accomplish what you want. :)
