Hi, does anyone on here know how to find local bloggers or influencers?

In other countries (ie: Canada, UK- except US)

    Thanks.

Find local centers of influence like Subreddits, city pages, discussion forums, etc where your target audience is likely to be and promote your best blog posts there. The more hyper local and relevant the content is, the more traffic you'll draw to your site. For example, a blog post about 10 types of New Jersey shade trees that can save you money might pick up some good traction on the New Jersey subreddit. If it the information isn't useful, you're wasting time. If you come across as advertorial, you'll be slashed by moderator and called out by users. Tread carefully.

Finding bloggers is easy. Instruct your VA (same one used to find citations) to look through Google using search operators like:

    • your city blogger
    • your city list of bloggers
    • best blogs in your city

I generally use 1 of 2 value propositions:

    1. Guest post exchange (i.e. I write for you, you write for me).
    Total Cost:

    • Most VAs range between $4 - $8 per hour.
    • They can find about 10 opportunities an hour.
    • For 100 opportunities, you're looking at $40 - $80.
    • Most content writers charge between $40 and $80 for 1,000 words.
    • You're looking at up front investment $40 - $80, plus an additional $40 - $80 per link.

    1. Sponsored post (i.e. I pay you for a post on your site).
Sponsored posts work really well when targeting fashion, travel, entertainment and lifestyle type bloggers.
    Total Cost:

    • Most VAs range between $4 - $8 per hour.
    • They can find about 10 opportunities an hour.
    • For 100 opportunities, you're looking a $40 - $80.
    • Most bloggers will charge between $50 and $200 for a link (NEGOTIATE!!)

Creating a relevant local guide or resource will provide value to your community/audience and drive links back to your site. Some potential options include:

    • Local guides - restaurants, bars, museums, etc.
    • Local events calendar - activities, festivals, local sporting events, etc.
    • Local map - tourist attractions, free Wi-Fi locations, pet-friendly hotels, etc.
    • Resource list - community organizations, local heads of government, local charities, etc.

You can find bloggers with a simple google search of "Guest posts + Canadian blogger" or "List of Canadian bloggers + write for us". And also you will find the local bloggers contacts by using social media's too.

Social medias like Facebook, twitter, linkedin would be a great handy for you to find local bloggers. Do Google search with the terms like Guest post+ UK bloggers/canadian bloggers,.

My personal approach is to use social media.

There are lots of local bloggers that include the name of their city in their Twitter bio or Facebook fan page description.

When doing outreach with these influence leaders, I would caution against trying to push the idea of guest blog post immediately.

Don't do it. You'll come off as a spammer.

You see, if a blog is really influential in your particular area, there is no shortage of the people soliciting that particular blogger.

The better approach would be to pitch that person with past work that you've done.

This establishes a certain level of authority and credibility.

At the very least, the influence leader would get some sort of idea regarding your niche expertise.

Both IZEA or SponsoredTweets have platforms set up for this.

Fiverr also has a large member base offering social shoutout services, look for places that offer them if you prefer qualitative volume.
