Any recommendations for tools or online services? Search by orders on the site is not enough.

it really just comes down to cutting your teeth and becoming experienced through your own researching efforts.

There's no magic bullet and no one is going to do the work for you. If they find items/categories that have profitable options they're going to use it themselves, not give it away freely to you because you asked for it.

start brainstorming niches/categories, then branch out into sub niches within and thinking of things these niches need/want and check to see if you have access to a profitable solution.

I've spent nearly a decade brainstorming different niches and products that may be profitable. Over the years I have developed a habit of always keeping in mind "I wonder how much I can get that for" when I see things in the wild. I write it down and research it later to see what kind of consumer market that item/niche has. I started with my own personal interests as they're what i knew best (thus knew pricing decently) and over time I've naturally developed a 6th sense for finding profitable products. I can typically find a new item with a positive profit margin within 10 minutes of looking when I want to.

You learn to and become an expert in doing this sort of thing through repeated trial and error. When I first started I couldn't find profitable inventory -at all- unless looking @ bootleg stuff, which was of no use to me since I wasn't interested in doing anything illegal. over time you start seeing patterns and your way of thinking in regards to research/profit hunting becomes refined.

The most important advice I can give is stop asking others to figure it out for you from the ground up. If you hope to succeed in online marketing in any form you have to learn to be self reliant and think for yourself. critical thinking, problem solving, and mental mapping for a venture is a necessity in this world. It is at the very core of what being a (successful) internet marketer is all about.

It's fine to ask questions or to open discussion for help overcoming snags and obstacles, that's why this place exists, but you've not even established a basic form of operations or have a foundation of plans in place, and are essentially asking for someone to do the entire thing for you. That mode of thought will not work.

Even if your guardian angel came into this thread, gave you a few links to products and said "here you go, these yield 25% profit per sale and are hot items", eventually that product would become oversaturated or otherwise lose it's value, and then you'll be right back here doing the same thing because you have not developed the ability to stand on your own.

Don't focus too much on "hot" products. Just because a product sells 10,000s of times doesn't mean you will be able to sell it as well. Remember that huge sales also mean huge competition. I'd always prefer a small, relatively "non-hot" niche and establish a name or a brand in there instead of heading where a ton of competitors are already.
