I will be the first to admit that blog commenting works! I would for sure take the time, and do the work that it involves. It's a great way to get some backlinks going.

Download competitors' list by Ahrefs ...

Dropmylink is the good tool but you can also try different footprints that will help you to find the high PR backlinsk. I am also searching it from this way and getting the desired results.

Here is the nice method to get high quality backlinks for your site.
First go to dropmylink site
You find 2 options text box about Keyword Find.
In keyword box, type about the keyword of your site that results into related blogs. In find option box, select blogs whose results you wants to shown up.
Then click search button to find all these blogs. Go to these blogs and publish such a comment that gives value to both author and other readers.
Remember don't spam!

I use Scrapebox to harvest the lists to build backlinks on. Sometimes I check offers on IM forums and get some new sites to add to my list.

You can use DropMyLink for finding blogs as well, but for finding high pr blogs, you need to check each blog manually if you are not using any software.
