    Summary:
.) Avoid oversaturated products with low margins such as earpieces, screen protectors, phone cases, batteries, wallets, pen stylus because there are too many Chinese sellers whom can source and ship it cheaper than you. Newbies often fall into that "copy cat" trap and fail miserably.

.) Avoid selling items which are being sold for 0.99p - £5. These are mere loss leaders for boosting your feedback and maintaining your DSR and profit is rarely made. If you can't make at least 60% profit after expenses don't waste your time.

.) randomly comb through the profile and listings of successful sellers and analyse which items are selling, the quantity of items sold, and whether customers are leaving positive feedback for that specific product.

.) Spend a few weeks researching wholesale websites like Ali Express, Alibaba, DHGate etc. When you see a viable product compare to the same or similar item sold on eBay. Take out a calculator an work out whether you'll make a profit.

.) Comb through the international eBay sites for untapped niches such as .com, .ca, .com.au, .ie etc.

.) Use effective marketing, for example could fetch a higher price if advertised for a different audience. For example if brown wigs are saturated. You can market it as "brown wig for actresses" or "brown wig for costume design" or "brown wig for theatre" or "William Shakespeare style wig". Now you have a wealthier and posher clientele that will pay more.
