Got a very funny video of my 3 month old son that i'm going to upload to YT and throw some views, comments etc. at it...good go viral, everybody laughs their arse off every time they see it. he's crying and pulling some funny faces (can't do it justice in words)

Any ideas of a way to monetize it?

Any cpa offer that you see on semi-useless websites, such as free ringtones, get a free whatever and such.

Don't know about you people out there but exploiting family members sounds like stupid shit to me and I would never do something like this.

The title was harsh but come on folks....funny kids videos go on Youtube every day and we all get a laugh out of them. If this thing ends up getting a million legit views and he posted it a few months down the road, everyone would be saying "why the hell didn't you promote a site for him also?".

That sounds about right. If you wanted to post more videos later, you could also have an opt-in which could build you a nice e-mail list if the video goes viral.

BTW, that thread title is disturbing. Sounds like something Michael Jackson would say.

If its a funny kid video I don't see the problem really. People put silly stuff on youtube. But there are fucking weirdos too. Not sure I'd want people like that watching a video of my son, who is 3 by the way. And a CRAZY character also.

I think if you're going to try to monetize a video you need to ask yourself WHO will be looking at the video and what would they be likely to buy? If its a silly kid video probably moms would watch it so find a mom related thing to offer. Or you could go the general route with ring tones etc. Or maybe a toy offer...hook up with the "as seen on tv" aff program and link to Benadroos or something dumb like that.

Why don't you post it on MetaCafe? If it gets a lot of views and high scores, you will make money that way. People love that kinda crap stuff on MC

I'll have to check later coz I'm heading out but either Maxbounty or Neverblue have a campaign right now that is for some kind of baby photo contest. If you're signed up with either, check it out.

*edit* okay i just looked at my neverblue campaigns and they have a cpa that pays $1.60 for a first page registration and photo upload. The one I saw previously paid a lot more for a c/c payment. That must have been the one on maxbounty

yah, "exploit" might be a bit harsh ... how bout " how to show off my son"?

... show only half of the vid ... and at the end say " get the full video @ blah.com " and try to monetize there where you have more control.

Thanks for all the responses - got me thinking in right direction.

The thread and title "how to exploit my son" was intentionally controversial to gain more views and hopefully more ideas...would have thought everyone here would understand that. Seen plenty of "how to monetize" questions go unanswered or without much input so i put a twist on it, as we are told to do with all the methods we learn here

I don't think your kid will be very happy when will grow up.He will know that the hole planet laugh at him.

But if you really want to do this the best is to watermark the video strongly and creat a website in this topic (funny kids videos)

I don't see anything wrong with putting funny kids on YouTube, but the video posted by tonlilaz seems like they are just using him to make profit...listen to the mother saying - Do it again, do it again. They are just trying to get him to do funny stuff to make money. If the intentions are right, then I have no problem with it, but it's kind of dumb to try and make money off him.
