I've been considering some link purchases for client sites but not sure what's a good price to pay. Seen many people quote TF/CF but not sure if that's the only benchmark I should use. Do you guys have any pricing benchmarks that you use to evaluate how much to pay for a link.

What kind of links do you have in mind? Homepage text ads? Provide an exampe.
There are more things to consider than just tf\cf when searching for quality sites-donors and evaluating them.

If you are looking for links from actual blogs then you need to check the keywords that blog is ranking for, it's niche, how relevant the backlinks would be etc. Contact the webmaster and discuss the price. There will be a different price for each link and so there cannot be any ballpark figure. The BHW marketplace have got few such services, check them out as they are worth it since you save a lot of time on scouting around for blogs that sell links and use the time in doing what you do best. Time is money, ain't it :)

Yeah I did check out some services. Some prices seemed quite high like was being quoted $600-800 for a link on entrepreneur and such sites. So was wondering if there any benchmarks.

we don't buy sponsored posts at our company...
however, many webmasters suggested me this option. In average $50 per article (on sites with traffic and good metrics 30+, 40+). Can be less or much more. Often rates are negotiable.
I would advice to look at ahrefs and moz metrics as well besides majestic. Also check its inbound and external anchors: if there are a lot of unrelated spammy phrases\words like "buy viagra", "cheap insurance", "free porn", then it may bring more harm than value, or just take a look at its anchhor cloud.
    But that's all in brief)

There is a different price for each link, Just you can look at the backlinks from the blogs are worthful to your money. If the blogs are real and have the good metrics such as PA,DA,CF,TF then you can spend the good sum to get the backlinks from them and it will be sure to help your blog's growth.

If the site is clean and good site then you can pay up to $150. If you are looking for sites like entrepreneur then definitely cost will be high. I hope you can find good real guest blog sites with less budget.
