So my impression is when most people register a new domain and make a new website they simply have this rule of thumbs - wait 2-3-4 weeks before they start backlinking.

So my questions are the following:
    • Is there a clearly defineable period of time we should wait before we start our backlink campaign and should we start doing it gradually? Does it depend on some clearly defineable factors?
    • Is there danger of posting too many backlinks within a small timespan after the initial waiting period? If yes how many links (and of what quality) should be posted (if that is defineable at all). What would the potential penalization be - being sandboxed, simply lower rank?
    • Would a backlink pyramid campaign protect us from penalization? If yes, should there be an interval of time between building tier 1/2/3 (and - how long)
    • What defines which backlink structure would be superior for you?

I would be grateful if I am granted some insight by more experienced members, since this is surely of the first vital steps to SEO. Thank you in advance. :)
