Im starting to look into it as well. I think my plan is to start with a common dropshipping company and list a few items, then whether or not I sell anything, I'll scale it up a notch and look for even cheaper wholesalers or suppliers.
The thing I'll be doing, though, is that I'll make an official company so everything will be legitimate. I'm still worried about two things:
1) What happens when buyers find out that they purchased from a middle man
2) What happens if a buyer scams me or gets pissy and wants to take me out?
I don't have a plan for those, though only #2 is really an issue.

Why read a ebook to dropship? What do you wan o sell. Maybe I can poin you in the right directions. I have about 5 dropship sites.
1. Have your dropshipper put your name, address and phone # on the shipping label
2. Customer will always lie. Just factor it in your lost
In my eyes, dropship business is the easiest business to get in. Barely any overhead cost. Good luck!!

My Wife and I started out dropshipping with the Ebay business 6 months ago and there were some problems, we no longer do it and do the posting manually and wholesale purchasing only. It depend how much time you have really, My wife is a stay at home mum and it gives her something else to do "packing shipping etc" for better profits. I made a blog on the progress of the business its 95% acurate 5% salesy for IM purposes but some good free info in there for yas . http://ebayshortcut.blogspot.com
