So I built a new website based around cool/interesting/oddball products that are on Amazon and the goal is to drive lots of traffic to the site and get commission off my aff links. There are no real set of keywords and I don't want to try and rank pages in google. I want this page to get popular through social media and hopefully it'll go viral and make me some decent money, I'd be really happy with like $500 a month. Here is what I've done so far:

Set up a facebook page and linked to every post on my blog. I also bought 3,000 followers of Fiver to make my page look a little popular to new people that come.

Set up a Pinterest account and linked to every post as well. Again I bought 1,000 followers on Fiver to make it look popular.

Just started using Stumbleupon today and added a couple links. I heard you have to be careful on this site and not post to many links. Does anyone have any good tips on using this site?

So basically what are some other methods I can use to drive traffic. I don't mind investing some money just not sure what route to go. In the past I've always working with ranking sites on google so I am new to this social media stuff. I'm not looking to get rich quick and this is actually a pretty fun niche so I don't mind putting time into it. All suggestions are welcomed. Thanks

It's pretty hard to get viral, but I think you're doing it the right way (the social media route). Focus on interesting tumblr / instragram pics and get unrelated traffic?

From what I've read, it might be worth looking into one of the follow/unfollow routes, either with a bot or manually to ensure that you're getting off on the right foot with real people following - after all, those bought followers won't make anything viral.

But most importantly, love the thread title although you might want to make an edit :)

Edit of my own: Practically speaking, from my limited experience, getting social followers is one of the easiest parts if the content itself is worth sharing. Look out for people that seem to be into that sort of thing, or ones that will retweet/reblog/etc just about anything and follow them, and if the maker of whichever oddball product you're looking at has a decent number of followers in their own right then include an company name tag, it can often result in a retweet of their own which gets you in front of a whole new audience. Completely white hat and so perfect for building a longer term recurring profit. I know this is a different niche, but real world example: I was working on an e-cig site, wrote a blog post about a new marketing campaign by SkyCig, tagged them in the post and they RT'd it. The result was the most traffic to a single page and highest daily sales that the site had seen to that point.

What site would you do the follow/unfollow on, All of the major ones? I have done this before back in the day with twitter and it worked pretty well. I know the fake followers wont do anything but when I go to a Facebook fan page I'm more likely to like the page if I see there are many likes as apposed to only a few. haha ya I didn't notice the title till after I submitted and I dont think you can edit it.

So far I'm been spending mostly my time on Pinterest. I follow about 250 people a day. Right now I have 1650 followers, 1000 of which were bought/fake and the other 650 are real that have followed me back. They are actively repinning/liking/commenting on my pins and I'm getting about 50 visits a day from Pinterest.

Mean while my Facebook fan page sucks ass. I have about 9k bought likes but don't get any interaction at all. I need to get real people liking my page like Pinterest, but I don't know how.

Whats the best way to get real FB Likes?

You can use the Facebook ads to get more Facebook fans. I paid for a load of fans and I get a lot of traffic to my website from them which is nice.

Create youtube video's, put your links in it, buy likes, comments and views.

Maybe a good referral from someone will work.
