    Hi all,

I'm hoping to get some tips from you guys on how to drive traffic to my gadgets blog, which is my second ever Wordpess website and it's going to be ready in a few weeks. The site is working with the Amazon Affiliate program (US + UK) and has a couple hundred of products listed and a blog that will review all kinds of gadgets (funny, crazy, sick, adult, cool etc.). All the content is unique with SEO-friendly articles and descriptions, plus the site has a cool and easy to remember URL.

I have been reading this forum a lot but I am still unsure which methods to use to get started with for driving traffic to my blog. For the first site I made it was easy, as it was a site providing information that thousands of people were looking for and I had zero competition, so just on-page SEO did the trick and the site was soon ranking 1st for all keywords on its own and I was getting good amounts of targeted organic traffic. This gadgets site on the other hand, will need a lot of promotion to make profits as its not a small niche.

For this new site I've done the following so far:
    -On-page SEO with Yoast
-Created a FB-page, bought 2k likes to make it look more interesting, a "gadget of the day" will be posted on this daily
-Installed Like Jacking Ninja (Still had subscriptions left from my first site I tested it on)

Next, I'm a little confused what to do to start driving traffic to the blog. First of all, it's difficult to define the niche as the site has so many categories of random funny/cool stuff, so it's perfect for people looking for gifts and those who see something funny and immediately want to buy it.. For the record, I have both, time and some money to spend on the promotion but I'm hoping to get some guidance to not waste too much of either.

For the next steps I have considered the following:
-Posting ads on loads of Facebook groups (e.g. buy and sell)?
-Create a Twitter account, use a BHW service for retweets to gain followers?
    -Use a BHW SEO service?
-Use a software like BuzzBundle to find people talking about buying gifts or so, and reply with a post containing my link?

What would you recommend for a gadgets site that is aimed at a very large audience?

Thanks for the tips! I have done quite a quite a lot but everything has been only preparation so far and the next step will be the actual promotion. What do you mean with buying targeted traffic more precisely? Which medium is typically used for this?

I saw some interesting services in the social media marketplace section e.g. retweeting to over 10 million real users on Twitter could be a good one to get started with, as long as my tweets are actually interesting.

Use a keyword tool and identify low competitive keywords in your site, and start ranking them first. As it will be easy to rank low competitive links, and then go for medium competitive keywords and try to rank them and then further.

Have you considered buying targeted traffic to your facebook page? Try to engage users in your facebook, run some contests and offer them a free giveaways for engaging in your facebook page. Offer something for referring their friends to your website.

Don't forget to keep doing what you are doing, build links slowly and in long run, you can see your hard work will be paid off.

    Good luck :)

Thanks for the ideas! I need to start working with those keyword tools - this is something completely new for me. I also had a look at a few people offering targeted traffic, it sounds like a good idea directly to my website, which will create further traffic with the FB Like Ninja enabled :D

The contests are also a brilliant suggestion! I could create a competition for winning a bundle of gadgets, "Enter the competition by sharing this post" or something along those lines. Later on when I have some traffic, I could add a competition on the website itself that requires your email and start building a list.

    Forum postings on gadgets forums,
    Yahoo answers
    Social media
    would be basic tricks.

Several people have suggested purchasing targeted traffic on BHW. Could anyone please explain to me what to look for more specifically, or perhaps suggest a service? I've been trying to find one on BHW, but all the ones I found seem to be meant for boosting the traffic stats instead of actual conversions.

    Any recommendations?

Find the lowest competition keywords that can rank without a single backlinks. Just do quality content. Target like these as you are going to outsource:

If you trying to do Authority then weekly 10-20 High quality posts with 500-700 words and target each posts each different keywords.

20 Posts= 20 Keywords and target 100-500+ searches which you can rank easily. So, weekly 20 posts and monthly 80 posts and 80 keywords. Outsource the contents and do the Proper SEO and social signals. and target to rank the keywords Go like these, You will rock :)

and If niche then target few keywords, 2-3 main keywords, 10 secondary keywords and 50 long tail keywords ...

    2-3 main keywords= 2-3 Pillar content 2000+ words
    10 secondary keywords= 10 Contents with 1000+ words
    and 50 long tail keywords = 50 Articles with 500-600 words :)

    All the best
