Hi everyone, I'm new on this forum, I have a couple of weeks reading all the content and the experiences of everyone and it looks like this is an amazing community, (plus at the date I've never read troll users or rude comments, everyone seems so nice replying).

I'm from a country of CentralAmerica and as you, I really need to earn money for buying my food, I'm very passionate with the marketing online and officially I begin this journey now. I reject an office job earning $1k because I really have faith on this, so my initial goal is to make $1k monthly to show to all the people that I can do this through internet.

Right now I have a tumblr with exactly 70k followers I began this tumblr over a year ago without any pretention of doing money from it, but now I see my followers growing so fast I really want to take advantage of it, right now I'm making just $50-$100 MONTLY from advertising because I'm in an ad network, but I really feel undervaluated with this money.

    This are my stats:

    • 160,000 pageviews and 40,000 visitors (37% direct traffic, 30% from tumblr, 6% from google search and 6% from facebook)
    • PR 5
    • 9,000 Posts (20 post per day)

I'm planning to create another adsense account (my first one was banned without reason now I have different domain) but I think my site isn't so well with the SEO, I mean I don't know anything of SEO, I didn't change or tweak anything on the theme, I don't add any tag to my images, I don't do promoxpromo, I properly source the images.

Again I don't know anything of SEO but I think 6% of the traffic is from google isn't so much, I believe I can improve that. The keywords of my niche have a heavy competitors, and have around 1M. of search (2 keywords combined )

Also I began another tumblr a month ago and right now I have 3,400 followers, again without touching anything of the SEO.

I really want to make money and help my family but I don't want to do black hat seo I'm very scared that tumblr bann my main tumblr. I want to make white hat seo but with some automated tools. This tumblr have facebook, pinterest and twitter but I don't spent too much time on it because is a very hard task to keep update this sites, but I know it can drive me more traffic.

    • Is it posible to improve the SEO of a site based just in images? (tumblr) How? what tools can I use?

    • How can I upload images to facebook, twitter and pinterest and put links that goes to my tumbr? (everybody talks about imacros but I try it very hard to use it on my mac and some little things doesn't work I don't know if the people talk about the complete software for windows or just the browsers plugin)

Do you think that with my traffic, my initial goal of $1k is crazy?

    Thanks guys.

The only thing on Tumblr that Google really scrapes for SEO purposes are your blog description that you place after your title, and then the "caption" portion of each photo that you post. The tags do nothing for Google, only good for within Tumblr searches. So you have to make your exact search phrase the caption of your photos. Also the description of your blog needs to be exact search phrases separated by "pipes" you know like this: Best blog for girls | Hottest blonde women | Hottest models on Tumblr |

As far as part 2 of your question... I have no idea how to work that on other sites. Sorry.

I tend to disagree about importance of tags. Tumblr moderates posts for sitewide tags. So if you have a picture that falls into their quality standards for a specific tag, it will boost your traffic and provide lots of linkjuice. Most sitewide tags rank top 3 in Google and are good for thousands of daily hits if in a popular category.

So I'm confused now, so if I add tags to my post like: "cars", "a unicorn jumping inside a big car", "lol", thats mean that are zero chances that my post appear on a google search for the term "a unicorn jumping inside a big car" ?

is any other practices that I have to use to improve the SEO of a TUMBLR?

thanks for your kind replies guys.
