Go to your theme folder -> single.php and remove the line containing <?php the_time( 'xxx' ); ?>

Single-post.php then? Hard for me to answer as I dont know wich theme you got.

Dont know if I actually would recommend to use a plugin for such as simple task.
Mabye it's just my toughts but if there was a simple plugin for every fix people would probebly end up having 30 plugins installed.

There are no problems running many plugins at once - But there might be a problem if they cross each other and they interact in the wrong way, that may couse a bug.
I'm just saying that if you can avoid a plugin you should. Dont get me wrong, plugins are great and I use them myself.
But in this example if you just have to remove one raw of code, I would recommend that instead of getting a plugin.
