I am curious how the big companies.. companies that are in like CJ.com and big sites, how they handle getting around bad SEO. What tactics do they use so their affiliates rank, but they can never get the client side site to rank (or derank)?

I want to assume it has something to do with cloaking links. I have one bad affiliate that was just linking to her order page, and she did it so much, google just backhand slapped the hell out of our site and it is definitely killing us.

How do we stop this from happening?

    affiliate-handling noob here.

    thanks

Use no follow - For all affliate links and back-links per post is the key to success ! .But again Google Dont like Affliate Sites and de-rank them in every updates !

You just answered your own question. With a little more research on your competition you can notice that they do multiple redirections before the offer link.

How many links are we talking about? If there are tens or even hundreds of links you can try to manual rem0ve them. If you have xx.xxx backlinks, forget about it and move on. Just my opinion.
