Hello guys! Since many of you liked my 1st method I took the courage to write this 2nd one.
Here I am going to talk about how I started my own blog, what ways I chose to promote it (1 that needs some investment and one that it's not) and what's the niche of this blog. At the end of the post I will add some twists that you may find useful.
What you will need:
1) A google account to create your Blogger blog or your Wordpress blog. ( I would suggest to buy your own domain name and hosting but it works perfectly even if you don't, but we all know that Google is crazy sometimes so the choice is yours. I want to keep this method as "free" as possible).
2) Around an hour walking - one time only unless you choose to do it again (I'll explain what I mean below).
3) Around half an hour per day to post 3-4 posts minimum.
THE IDEA:
I've seen lots of blogspot.com types of blogs that have only some funny, weird and maybe some sexy photos (not completely nude) and I was like "oh my god this idea is so saturated" but to my surprise I've stumbled upon some brand new blogs from the same country that offer similar content and still all of them had thousands of fans. So I decided to give this a try and came to this conclusion: People never get bored of funny/weird stuff no matter if they are already subscribed to hundreds of these similar blogs. Give this method a try you won't be disappointed.
That being said let's dive in.
THE METHOD:
1) Find a blog that posts relevant funny/weird photos with as little text as possible. Make sure that this blog is not from the country you live. (So if you are from France for example you can search for English blogs, if you are gonna use English to your blog do the opposite.) Why?
You do not want the people in your country/city to know the blog you are gonna rip the content. Simple as that. You want to be the No1 blog for them that will visit if they want to see something cool/funny/weird/sexy and if they can understand that you just copy paste a famous blog no one is going to like you (both in reality and on facebook
)
For this reason use search terms that is unlikely someone to use like: funny photos blogspot.com french, funny and weird photos from blogspot.com sites, weird photos and news wordpress.com blog brazil (etc). You got the idea. Check out the blogs find something that would make you "Like" them.
- Ok Blakester, I see you mentioned "ripped" what if google ban my blog for getting other's content?
First of all you need to understand that no one owns these photos, unless they are fully copyrighted. Even the biggest blogs "steal" photos the fact that they are famous and their owners outsource workers to "steal" the content first doesn't make them legit. It's like a video that it goes viral. Many will re-upload it, many blogs will mention it. "Mentioning" is a way of promoting and that's not illegal.
Even if you feel "a bad person" that you steal content you can do what I do. The blog I take pictures from has a note saying "I do not own the photos. You do not own the photos. So you can distribute them". You can choose to rip photos from these blogs that "allow" you to do it and also add the same message to your blog if you wish, for extra protection.
- Thanks but I am still afraid of Google?
If you still feel unconfident then it's time to get your own domain name and hosting, sorry
2) The reason I said "as little text as possible" is because you won't have to spend too much time translating huge articles. "This is a photo doing that" - That's enough. You can even use Google translator for small sentences to get the idea.
3) Create a facebook fan page. Choose "Website" as an option. Create a beautiful profile thumbnail/picture (both the small one but also the big one that the new timeline uses). The prettier the page the more people will "Like" the page.
4) Make sure that the big timeline image shows with big letters the name of your blog: xxxxxxx.blogspot.com (you will see why).
THE "WELL KNOWN" PROMOTION (needs some investment):
The first one isn't something new but I will tell you my mini ideas to make sure you will earn the most out of it.
You can use Facebook ads, they do wonders if you keep these simple tips:
1) Use the option to pay per click and not per impressions. You want to pay for those who take action.
2) Add a catchy picture. And most important: A relative one. The same thing goes for the ad text.
ULTRA IMPORTANT: Make sure the viewer that reads the ad knows what the ad is about. Adding a hot girl if you are not going to feature hot girls to your blog just to grab the viewer's attention is not going to work here. 100% he will click, he will see that the blog is irrelevant to the topic he clicked to and would leave the page. And you just spent some money for nothing.
3) Use the link of your facebook page instead of the blog link. Your goal is to get the viewers to like your page. It's almost sure that if he clicks to see the page (and sees with big letters the name of the blog as mentioned above) he will definitely check it out later. But we want them to like the page so send them there.
I used these steps and got around 200 genuine targetted likes with $15. Click costed 12 cents each. I am pretty sure I got many likes from the "shares" of my members that liked the page. That's the beauty of social interaction. The more the fans you have the more rapid you will have even more and for less cost!
THE "WALKING" METHOD:
This method rules I tried it and saw fantastic results.
1) Print the big image of your facebook page. A4 or A3 in size, make them look like posters. You don't have to use the expensive/glossy quality paper. Get around 10-20 copies.
2) Go for a walk and "visit" your local bus stops and stick your "posters". Stick them in a place that will draw attention.
3) Use a blue background with yellow text. This also attracts and for some reason blue and yellow/orange builds some kind of trust.
4) The text should be something like: "xxxxxx.blogspot.com (with big letters)" are you bored? Follow the No1 funny site of your town" Well I am pretty sure you will have a better text but you got the idea.
MINI TWISTS:
1) Add a like box next to the posts. Even if they go straight away to the site you will still have the opportunity to make them click.
2) Add a popup window to make them click. They will click "X" for the first few times but if they like the content they won't have a problem to Like the page. Also they may think "I will click to remove the annoying little box". You don't care why he clicked. But he clicked. And you have +1 fan that will read your posts.
3) Get some fake Likes from Fiverr for 5$. No one "likes" a page with no fans even if they do like it. It's a mental thing. Get around 1000 fake ones to boost your real ones easily.
4) Do NOT ad ads from the start. Not only you wont earn much but you will decrease the conversion (Like) rate. Be an authority with many many fans then use ads. Also if you care about SEO, using ads from the start will show Google that you made the blog for money not for usual experience and you want to avoid that.
RINSE AND TAKE IT TO NEXT LEVEL.
So you now have a blog with some decent traffic and authority? Congrats!
Add some pages/categories that your loved traffic will check out. Get paid from someone else to get advertised on your blog or to have his own category (which will be basically an external URL).
Or even start a new website or forum (let's say a dating chat/forum) and send traffic there.
Make your new forum well known and monetize it. Ideas are endless.
SHARE THE LOVE.
Pheeww finally finished this post!!
Hope you liked this method my friends. I can't find a reason why you cannot do this, unless you are not willing to take action.
If you liked this post I would really appreciate it if you could click the "Thanks" button, add some rep, buy me a beer (or 2 your choice
).
Take care!
