I have a blog with a 100 pages of content using local pages ningas. And I want to start manual commenting on edu/gov links, so my question is this: since I have 100 pages, should I just include my main blog url in my comment, or individual page urls with different comments on different backlinks?

to show google that your inner pages are also valuable, you should create links to all your pages

Depends on what page you want to rank :)
Between first go with main page and then for inner pages

Which means I have to comment with different page links on different blogs, right?

Does it matter that my main (or home page) is an "About Us" page?

Vary your Main URL/Inner pages links on about a 65%/35% split.

For each link, mix up your anchor text so it corresponds with the URL you're trying to push for that keyword.

It's important to not to hammer them ALL to your Main Page with the one keywords as it'll look as unnatural as buggery.

It takes a little longer to cut/paste different link and achors but that's why it's called 'Manual' commenting and it's where most newbies think. 'stuff this' and give up - if you keep pushing through, your chances at succeeding in IM will skyrocket purely because you're willing to work for it.

    Good luck!

Thank you LovervsFighter, appreciate your perceptive advice. I intend to do manual commenting to these blogs as I mentioned in original post. Also please answer my question above: Does it matter that my main (or home page) is an "About Us" page, or should I created a separate home page, or can I use the sitemap page as main URL? TIA for your answer.

I'm only fairly new to the game myself, mate, so I'm not overly sure if it makes a giant difference either way.

Is the 'About Us' page you're talking about where you plan to plonk all of your adsense etc and so on? If you're happy with it as your main page then it won't affect how it's ranked if that's what you're asking.

For example, if I had my 'home page' - www.examplesite.com - and then www.examplesite.com/aboutus

If I tailored the majority of my manual backlinks to www.examplesite.com/about us, the search engines aren't going to think, 'Hey! That's an About Us page! That can't go to #1!' :p

What I'm trying to say is if your About Us page is the one that you're trying to rank, then you won't be held back in terms of rankings if you links are good/strong enough. Some keywords have a Facebook Fan page as #1 for crying out loud. :p

I hope that answered your question and if there are any more experiences members reading this, please feel free to lend your voice to the conversation.
