I currently am hosting my own e-mail server, and using it has an auto-responder. I send out about 5,000 emails a day.

I was wondering how I can start collecting these emails automatically, and turning them into a list?

Also I wondering about what steps should I take a to keep a low profile with my host company? Is 5,000 emails a lot, or not a big deal?

Thanks.

I'm confused by the questions. How are you "responding" if you haven't already got the list?

And the amount you send per day isn't as important as how many spam complaints you get from the emails you're sending out.

As to your volume:

I'm not a spammer, but I've heard that batches of up to 500 emails at a time, spaced out by an hour or so generally stays under the radar if no or few complaints come in. I've also heard that any complaints at all can get you dumped by the hosting company (unless they are 'bulk commercial email' friendly :) ) because they don't want any CANN-SPAM issues for themselves.

Does that help?

That helps thanks...

And sorry if I was unclear, but what I meant by the first question is....I get people that email me, and I message them back with my auto-responder in my POP3/SMTP mailbox that is turned on. Their emails sits in my mailbox, and I was wondering if there is a way to capture these emails addresses. Does that make sense? Maybe some sort of way to scrap them all up? thanks
