I actually strongly disagree on the high gravity; see my original post for my rationale.

Recently I've been getting a lot of questions about Instagram - whether it is a profitable traffic source to use with clickbank or not. My answer is a huge YES! I actually believe it is very underused at the moment, and very few marketers have realized its true potential. It is particularly profitable for highly shareable/visual niches such as pets, fashion, etc...

Here's a good article I came across that gives 20 case studies of how the big brands are using IG to drive traffic to their offers:

    I agree with @mancar487 IG+clickbank can work.
    Example:
make earthporn/fantastic quality picture account(easy growth), act as if u are some kind of pro photographer, make yourself a nice bio, and then point people to clickbank job product - earn as photographer/get paid per sent picture. Why is it good ? It doesn't look spammy, u dont beg for attention, guys find your "photocash" site on their own.

I say as a beginner I say look for the highest converting products on Clickbank that offer monthly recurring commissions and go for it regardless of what nich(es) you are actually interested in! cbtrends dot com is a good place to start. I also recommend sticking social networking & seo to build your business because paid ads are becoming expensive. I remember an ad campaign I was running on Facebook at $0.10 CPC that was being promoted in the U.S, U.K & Canada that did not get a single impression in its first day (Less than 100 in its first week). The auction market for those clicks are too competive. I could have gotten way more impressions than that myself through social networking & seo link building

now that clickbank has new advertising for themselves ~ making it know that they are click bank ~ is it possible to still make good money w/ them for a newbie or some good training?

I'm still thinking to start with CB. Will give it a try in a few days. And I learned it already months ago. Take action, just start.

So this sounds awesome and i'm trying to start but i don't quit understand how to properly promote a product. I was given an ugly looking link to "refer customers" with..but it's pretty obvious its a referal link so why would anyone believe what i have to say on the product if they know im trying to sell it to them?

Only promote products on the first page of the marketplace, in terms of popularity:

Anything less doesn't sell. Don't listen to what some of the people here are saying, they just want you to promote their low-quality, low-gravity products.

    Really informative
I have experience on CB affiliate marketing too, however I only prefer products with big Gravity like above 100, and I use tools like Google analytics or Martet Samurai to find out niches that have relatively low competition but high Gravity, believe, though hard, you will find some;)

Disagree completely. There cannot be a high gravity product that is low competition, because by default, gravity is a measure of competition rather than number of sales. You can technically have a product with gravity of 1 that is making a 1000 sales a day (if they are being generated by the same affiliate)...on the other hand, you CANNOT have a high gravity product that is low competition.

The reason why 95% of beginners lose money and fail on CB is because they go for high gravity products. However, you just cannot make sales with a high gravity product unless (1) you have a ton of experience either in ranking in SERPS or setting and monitoring a paid ads campaign and (2) you have at least a five figure budget either to rank or for testing (if paid ads). Moreover, most people seem to forget about refunds and it is a well known fact that products such as weight loss ones (which tend to be the high grav ones) have refund rates upwards of 20%.

Of course, I am not saying that you cannot make money with high gravity products. The title of this thread is "How to Choose CB products for Newbies - a 5 minute guide", operating term being "Newbies". Newbies CANNOT make a sustainable income with high gravity products - I can tell you hands down that you WILL lose money in the long term if you are a newbie and promote high gravity products. Of course, if you have the skills and cash, definitely go for high grav ones, but not if you dont.

The secret to making an income with CB for newbies is to find hidden gems with low gravity and high demand, which as per my OP, tend to be in the 5-25 grav range. Anything below or above that is a risk.
