How to check which backlinks are indexed?

Backlinks don't need to be indexed separately. Google finds them via crawled pages. Tools often miss many links. Check Google Search Console.

TBH, tools ain't gospel for indexing. I just do a quick site: search on the exact backlink page and then double-check in GSC. If it shows up, it's indexed; if not, probably not yet. And remember, some links can move the needle even if the page isn’t indexed yet, there’s lag.

It is surprising because this competitor rank #1 for the keyword.

I have always thought that if any backlinks appear in these tracking software, it means the backlinks are indexed.

most SEO tools do not show real index status. Just because a backlink appears there does not mean it is not indexed by Google.

How I check:
  • Use site: URL in Google
  • Search the exact backlink page URL
  • Check if the page is cached

semrush, ahref would be fine, also after a few weeks it will be reflected on google search console
