One site of mines is getting much more traffic then I projected it would receive. Most of this traffic is from keywords I'm not trying to rank for it seems. How can I check what keywords are bringing me this traffic? I remember seeing a site that shown which terms were searched in order to find that website, but I don't recall the name of that tool.

This.... or on Wordpress use StatPress if you don't want Analytics for any reason.

Piwik is an excellent alternative to Google Analytics. It is free and you host it yourself. Very easy to set up.

Implentation of Google Analytics will help you determine what traffic sources your website have, and which terms they found you on. What can also help is Google Webmastertools to splittest CTR% with different Titels and Describtions. With GWT you can also see which search terms people have found you on.

Statpress is great for quick stat, but be sure to truncate the statpress table once in a while. It can get real big at times and can affect your whole site.

I personally do not like the Google Analytics because it slows down the site. Instead use the statcounter.

It never slows down my apps, so I think it's not a true statement :) Replied just for information...

connect your site to g00gle webmaster tool then link this property to g00gle analytic. I seem this works perfect and give almost 80% better insight of keywords used to reach at your site.
