I would start by using this
    http://validator.w3.org/checklink

Which will tell you a host of info then move on to a full SEO check

    Hope that helps:cool:

You can also download SEO Powersuite from the downloads section and run the web auditor module.

Google webmaster tools has some great features that will help you find possible onsite issues with your site. You can also use websitegrader (dang post limits theres a period and a common tld in there!), it can be outdated at times but again it will help get you in the ballpark.

With that said, before you spend tons of hours working on onsite SEO, keep in mind that Google seems to be paying less and less attention to the nitty gritty details on your site, and more to your link profile, social signals, etc. With the majority of my clients simply making sure they have canonical urls, a 301 redirect, sitemap, title tags, and meta description goes miles. I've really been amazed at times just how quickly I can gain links for my clients simply by flinging whitehat / greyhat links at their site (things like manual social bookmarks, UAW, a few PBN links per month, rinse and repeat).
